M6 people how do you like your 4:10's:
I have a '99 T/A and i'm thinking of going with 4:10's in my stock Torsen 10 bolt. I see a lot of you already have. My engine is stock besides a lid, SLP loud mouth, and a MAF. I know 4:10's are a little large for a 10 bolt but I was going to reinforce it with the TA cover and girdle kit. Good Idea? I'm looking to get into the 12's will this mod get me there?
Give me your experiances. Pros and Cons.
Thanks

I was using 4:10s and the TA cover/stud kit in my stock rear for over a year. I absolutely loved them. Without a doubt, it is the best mod you can do for a 6-speed car. In order for your car to get any quicker at the track, make sure you purchase some drag radials (Nittos or BFGs).

you'll love them ! and do what jason said ; get some drag radials and heat them up!
i'm not sure the t/a cover is worth it , the problems with 4.10's is the teeth breaking off due to their small size .the t/a cover preloades the bearing caps and doesn't help teeth strength. ( try adding calcium to the diff oil )

4.20s all the way Best mod for the money. It makes starting off in 1st so much smoother, and really lowers your 60 ft. times and 1/4 mile times.
Go get some 4.10s

I've broken 4 stock rear setups, and wouldn't recommend spending a single dime on the stock rearend. Especially don't "upgrade" it if you race alot or have over 400 rwhp. I broke two of them on the street on drag radials.
Save up that money (wasted) for a 12-bolt rearend.
But, the gearing ratio 4.10 is sweet. Still gets acceptable rpm at 70 mph in 6th(about 2K)

I love mine. Since I install gears on the side I had no cost but for the gears. I agree with nineball, but if you don't race it and just drive it you will fall in love with the car all over again. I ran a 12.773 @ 110.91 with a 2.0 60' 3 weeks ago on the stock F1's, 1000' elevation, temp was in the 50's. You don't have to have a set of Nitto's or BFG's to make it faster at the track with the 4.10's. Just driving skills. But I'm saving for the 12 bolt. A 2.0 sixty is sorry.

I had my 4.10's in my stock 10bolt with the torsen diff for almost 3 days before I twisted both rear axles in half. It was definately fun to drive for the short time that it lasted, however even with a stock motor there is just too much torque with 4.10's for the stock rear. BTW it broke after 2 runs with DR's.

i went from 4.10 to 3.73, worked better for me. 3.73 in my Moser too
3.42 still in the 'hawk, anyone offer a 4.11 for the 10 bolt or perhaps that's an aftermarket carrier gear.
