Default clutch which one???

ok my cars clutch is kinda ify so i was wondering about a new clutch around the $400 range i was origonaly planning a spec stage 2 but now i plan on spraying the car w/ a 75-100 shot with in a year so will it hold. any other sugestons would be great besides just a spec clutch. keep in mind this i my daily driver,it needs to be easyish to drive in traffic and i needto last a long time what would be the best for me thats in my price range on $800 clutches im only 17 and just cant afford that

check out the ram powergrip series...i had a regular powergrip in and i am just switching it out for a powergrip hd. the regular powergrip is meant to hold up to 500 hp so u should be good. check out TSP thats where i got mine from and with fast shipping it was $440 total i think they are $380 or less on their website so check it out

same here with my powergrip...call TSP and talk to then about it. anyone there can answer you question. they also have them on sale i believe and they may also have the spec on sale. best bet is to just call and talk to them though, thats how i have solved most of my problems.

My vote would be with the RAM setups as well. I'm running a 402pp with a 6130 disk that cost a whopping $350. But with the spray I would go with one of the 900 series disk as the 6130 has a nasty habit of sticking to the flywheel wehn sprayed.

How many miles are on the car now? If not a bunch then you don't HAVE to replace the throw out or pilot bearings, but they are not real expensive and not that hard to replace.

i had two ram clutches go out on me. the first in about 1,500mi and the secong lasted 2,200-2,500ish mi. both were broke in the way they told me,i did buy the matching flywheel and added a new slave and adj master.they do hold well but don't seem to want to last at all. by the way,ram would not help much on the product being a piece of crap and they charged me to have the second clutch after the first lasted only 1,500mi. i'm on spec now and only have 550mi on it,so at this time i have nothing to say on this clutch,i just hope it will last longer then my rams did.

*Disclaimer: I am a bored 4l60E guy*

When my tranny went out I considered many options for what to replace it with, including a nice T56. That meant doing research to see what clutch I would want to run with it. Money not an object, I decided that if I went M6 I'd get the street twin.

It is above your price range though.

You could get a spec 3. Seems pretty popular around here and isn't very expensive.

I have about 600 miles on my Exedy Hyper single. So far so good. The tranny was re-built as well during the clutch swap.

I like the Exedy because it works great with the 01+stock hydrolics w/out the drill mod.

Replace the pilot bearing while you have it apart.
