how do I get flywheel off

Default how do I get flywheel off

I'm trying to remove it and its not budging. I took off all the bolts I can see. This is a 305 btw not a ls1.

Haahahha...pry a little(carefully) with a large screwdriver or pry bar. You'll have to pry around the edges then maybe spin the flywheel around and pry some more to get it off. You have to sort of "wiggle" it off. It fits on there tight.

ok um I got a big pry bar and hit it with a hammer, still not even a little wiggle.

In those pics the flywheel bolts are still on.
You did take those off right?

Uuhh....yeah..the bolts being still in would most definitely make the job of removing the flywheel MUCH harder...haahahahaaa

yes the 6 bolts are off but that little pin is still in there.

I don't think that roll pin should affect you getting it off. It's probably just stuck on their good and will take some constitent and difficult prying with a crowbar, working slowly around the edges, to get it off.

Did you ever get the flywheel off? If not, use a rubber mallet and tap the flywheel all the way around the flywheel. Mine took awhile to get off also. I turns out that it was just siezed to the engine and took abit of mucsle to get it off. Keep trying - it will come off. Btw - it is fairly heavy - dont let it hit you in the head or ribs.
