Default difference between clutches question

I was just wondering what the difference is between the single and dual disc Mcleod clutch? Im looking for somthing that will hold up to about 600-700 rwhp, but is still streetable. Do you guys know aprox hp ratings on these cluthes. I relize that once you start getting into the higher hp ratings you loose some street ability but I drive this car every day and the less chatter the better.
thanks guys

Twin disc all the way for that kind of hp. May not be a "pleasure" drive on the street but it'll work.

I have the 4 as well with aluminum fw and I really like mine. I'm going to look into the 5 next time though, I've heard that they are as easy to drive on the street but we'll see.

I would guess very high 9's to low 10's, really don't know. 6.6 1/8th with 100 n2o. Have a TNT 200 right now, going to a 300 NX I think. Still debating on n2o or FI. I like the "streetability" of Turbo's at lower psi, 8-10, and a 150 shot or so. I am in the process of changing it all up but I still am not sure what I am going to do.

What are your mods? Also how do you like the TEA heads. I am thinking of getting the AFR 225's with Nextec Springs ported by them to 227cc and a 76cc Chamber. I am currently running 205cc's I just updated the sig b/c thats what is on order right now, same with the NX300. I have ordered them both but I may be selling before i even use them lol, sounds about right huh?

Sounds good. I've been mulling around the big single turbo idea myself...If I ever hit the lottery
Right now I have a 402 iron block with TEA 6.0 stage III heads. I haven't hooked the N2O up yet. I'm trying to get everything straight NA first. I've run a bunch of 6.9 at 100mph in the 1/8th. I think I can beat that now though. I've improved a few things suspension, tire and clutch-wise. I'm also still pretty heavy at +/- 3600lbs raceweight.
I still have a tubular k-member and upper and lower control arms I haven't installed yet...
I love my TEA heads. The heads flowed 320 at .600 intake and 272 at .600 exhaust.
TEA could work some magic on those AFR's for you man...you'd be making some silly power.

Sounds like you have a nice set-up as well. What part of TN are you in? I hope around Memphis so maybe we could go to that 1/4 track there sometime. I drive mty car about every other weekend to and from the track. I've only had it break down once so far but I keep my fingers crossed. What kind of money do you think you have invested? I would imagine I have 10k or so but I really don't know. The block, heads, cam, timing chain, oil pump, pushrods are probably 7k of my set-up. Then the clutch and rear are another 3k, the suspension is probably about 2k, fuel is probably another 2-3k, n2o is another 1k, damn it gets expensive don't it. I guess I have alot more than I thought in it. Bottom line, I guess I'm married to my car.

Twin Disk all the way... I have used the McLeod Single, and the RAM Powergrip HD, both were destroyed after less than 10 passes each. I have the Twin Disk now, and thing hits the rest of the drivetrain so hard, it finds your weak spots in a hurry.

Just this past weekend was my first trip to the track with my Twin Disk... and now I have blown spider gears in my 12 bolt Eaton HD diff and a blown ring & pinion. The Twin will hold anything you throw at it, but it'll break stuff if the rest of your setup isn't as strong.

Let me know how the twin does in the long run. How long have you had it and what was the break-in like.
