Anything will work. I dont think there is really a "high performance" brake fluid. I used some made by Valvoline.

I had the valvoline stuff was turning black on me every 3 months...

recently put in a dot 5 silicone one when I did my Master, but noticed Chiltons, says not to use silicone and some other type ones, that it might break down the internal seals. And use GM or equvailent...

not looking ot ever do a clutch master on my car ever again Wanna use something safe.

Valvoline Synpower Synthetic DOT V. Has a higher boiling point than conventional DOT III.

In fact, there are high performance brake fluids. The measure of hydraulic brake/clutch fluids are viscosity at given temps, wet and dry boiling points, and resistance to hygroscopic suspension (water absorption which causes spongy pedal).

WARNING! DO NOT USE SILICONE-BASED (DOT 5) FLUID!! Silicone-based fluids will deteriorate your master & slave seals and you will eventually have to rebuild both. If you must use a grade better than DOT 4, use the new DOT 5.1 which is a compatible glycol-ether base like DOT 4. Great info HERE

The following fluids are the top rated DOT 4 fluids in the industry. All are compatible with normal driving and service intervals (not like race-only fluids that require flushing every 3-4 months from just sitting!):

I recommend Motul RBF600...

I used ATE in my Mcleod and it tore the seals apart within 6 months. I had to rebuild the damm slave cylinder internals, luckily Mcleod provides a rebuild kit cheap.

Neo 610 here. It's what Cartek uses pre-filled in their systems for their clutches. The Motul RBF 600 & the GS610 are also excellent (though the latter is prohibitively expensive, even more $$$ per volume than Castrol SRF!!!).
