as the car sits i will use 6th gear on most anything except steep hills. even @ 50-60 mph the car does not struggle to accelerate or maintain speed. you could lay a feather on the gas pedal @ 60 in 6th gear to maintain speed on somewhat level ground. but i rarely drive that slow..

6th, only because I have 4.10 gears and drive @ 80+mph on the highway.

well I just did an M6 Swap and still have 2.73's so I diff. drive in 5th lol hope to get some gears in next week, cars a turd with 2.73's

Hi Folks
I guess with the higher price of fuel, some of you will be going into 6th sooner - after 45 or 50 6th works great. You can away down shift if you have to. Just my two cents.

I shift at 2k rpm's weather it be at 45 in 4th or 60 in 5th if its 2k rpm i shift. Sometimes even at 1800.

Y'all are crazy! I use 6th at any speed above 55, and I have stock gears. I bet you guys get pretty crappy gas mileage...

I drive in 6th at 60 cause my cam and tune have given me a decent amount of lowend torque and I can drive from delaware? back home to south carolina getting around 25-26mpg IF I don,t play around and crusie a 65.
