Default Quick disconnect Fitting won't go back in HELP

I changed my clutch and used the old slave cylinder which I used for only 500miles. This is my 2nd time changing clutch and gonna be the 3rd time bleeding. But for some reason this time quick disconnect fitting doesn't wanna go back into the tranny. Any ideas? I hope I am not gonna have to take out the tranny and change the slave cylinder.

Please please let me know if someone else has also experienced this before

Did you crack the bleeder valve to let some pressure out?

I had the same problem last weekend. What I did was to make sure none of those metal fingers inside the fitting were pulled up (I had 2 that were). Then I had to have my friend push on the connector (green part) while I used a flathead screwdriver to push in on the white plastic part and it popped right in. Hope it helps

If your bleeder valve is clogged and not relieving pressure, you can also relieve pressure by using a screwdriver to depress the black check valve ring inside the female end of the connection on the slave cylinder.

I just set a pair of channel locks so they're open just enough to go around the line when closed. Now the flat side of the channel locks are resting against the fitting. You should have enough grip and leverage to push the fitting in.

Check what "sl3966" said to about the "fingers".

I just installed a new slave cylinder and had the same problem. I changed the master in 04 and just used the stock braided line because I had done the drill mod on it. Figured I would hang onto the new line just in case. I tried using it for this new slave and it would not engage for anything. I wound up reusing the stock line again. Snapped right in, no problem. Afterwards, just for kicks, I tried to connect the new braided line to my old slave. Still a NO GO!!! I don't think it has anything to do with the fingers. I believe the rubber stopper does not move far enough inside the connector for the lip to go past the fingers. I finally got tired of fooling with it and put it up. Also, I tried the pliers without success.
