Default slipping clutch???

Was driving in 6th gear today, and kinda floored it and the rpms started going up but the car wasn't going faster then as I let off gas, and then fed back into it, it seemed to grab again, but now EVERY time I push on gas harder than normal driving it's like the car doesn't go anywhere. Need new clutch? What else could be going on?

i would say as far as teh clutch, it needs to be changed....and usually when changing the clutch they change the pressure plate as well...

Need a new clutch. Get a clutch pressure plate combination and replace the pilot bearing while you're in there. Also take a look at the slave cylinder and replace it if it's beat up or leaking.

master/slave cyl's are brand new. I swapped this from auto to manual last year, and bought a used spec III clutch.

What kind of clutch should I go with? I'm having tranny problems too, grinds when going into 3rd or 4th. It WILL go into gear but grinds BAD. Just working on coming up with money to have fixed.

Should I go with ZO6 clutch? I'm running around 400rwhp heads/cam package and will be spraying 150 shot when I come up with the money. Thanks for the help.

nah i've heard the z06 clutches are just barely better than stock ones. i've only got around 330 hp and have a spec stage 2 and love it. it seems like with spec, its either a hit or miss, you either love or hate it. i say go with a stage 3, especially for when that 150 shot tempt you and you want the insurance of knowing it wont slip.

How about the LS7 clutch with an LS2 flywheel?

Your 3rd/4th grinding might be due to the clutch not releasing? Maybe if you're lucky.

So which clutch should I go with? I need to know asap so that I can buy it and put it in.

Does spec refurbish their clutches, or am I SOL and have to buy a whole new one?

Spec stage 3 plus, have lots of room to expand if you are going to add more power.

Does spec refurbish their clutches? I currently have a spec III am I going to have to buy a whole new flywheel, clutch and pressure plate?

Also am I going to have to replace my TO bearing? The one that's in there is only a year old

new pressure plate comes with the clutch kit, flywheel maybe, or you can get it resurfaced for about 50 bucks, the bearing also comes with the kit.
good luck
