The synchros are defeated and the trans is shifted meshing dog teeth. The name crash box is given to these for a reason = crashing into gear. This mod renders the car non- streetable for the most part.

Dailey dude
That might be true with a spur-cut gear that most pro/dog shift boxes use but a pro-shifted T56 retains the helical ,fine-pich cuttings and should not produce an in-gear noise increase.

My t-56 has been pro shifted for 2nd and 3rd gear by liberty transmission in michigan. It makes no noise at all and drives fine on the street.

I have a proshifted tranny 1-4 and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT ON THE STREET. It is more abuse and will not last as long. I already have to have my 3/4 slider fixed and will be changing from proshifted to face plating.

Thanks,
Joe

I was reading about that on libertygears site. how much is it to go to face-plating and how much better is it? is the streetability different?
