Certainly a long post. I've had the stock shifter, the stock Hurst shifter, the Hurst Billet-Plus, the Pro 5.0, and now another Stock Hurst with sticks from several places (LSS, Speed, Inc, SLP, etc.) They all were decent, and even the Stock Hurst shifters compared to each other are definately different. The only one I have not tried is the Ripper, but with the feel of the stock Hurst now I have decided to save my $175'ish dollars because this shifter rocks. I know it has been said many times, but if you have a local club or if you attend an F-body event, ask others to see how their shifter performs, it's as simple as that.

So im guessing you didnt like the pro 5.0 much? I do like that it has the stoppers on it tho.

I have a Ripper right now and I don't really like it. I'm thinking of going with a Pro 5.0 for the simple fact that I can't always tell if it's in gear. At least with the 5.0 i'll know before letting the clutch out. I browsed through most of this thread and didn't notice anyone talking about a Kirban shifter. Anyone got one of them? New era has on for about the same price as a Ripper and 5.0.

I had a Hurst shifter on my Callaway Camaro and loved it. Pro 5.0 is probably the most popular.

I put a pro 5.0 on my car and i been having a hard time shifting it fast the stocker was really smooth and I could get it into gear fast but the throw was a mile long. I might need to bleed the clutch im going to try that and if i still have prob I might try another setup like maybe the stock hurst and a short stick.

I currently have the pro 5.0 on my car, and don't like it. Like everyone else said, its way to notchy/noisy. I'll definatly be switching back to the factory hurst soon.

Does the factory shifter gasket - the one that goes on the floor work with aftermarket shifters or do you have to modify it? I want to keep a good seal to the outside of the car. I think I'm about to order a hurst billet but I want it to be quiet.

I reinstalled my stock Hurst with LSS and it 's way better than my pro 5.0. The 5.0 was great the 1st yr then it just went to crap. Very sloppy and notchy and inconsistant on how it feels. Feels like the inside of it is moving alot. I took it apart and have relubed it and will get some new springs that are stiffer and try it again maybe.

I had the stock hurst shifter and It felt good. No problems with it. I changed over to the pro 5.0 and I love the way it feels as well. I dont think its any different feel than the hurst other than the hand position.

Someone asked about the SLP short shifter... I had it on my old car a long time. I really liked that shifter, and I sold it to a friend of mine that still has it on his car. He loves it too, but now that Im used to the B&M and the Factory Hurst, I just cant get used to the Lou's short stick being so short on a notchy shifter... The SLP was very good though and even though it was notchy, it was predictable and gear selection was very accurate at WOT.

I have the factory Hurst in my car now, and I was thinking about getting another Ripper, but I think I would rather buy a solid (as in not stock) shifter stick of the stock height or at least close to it. The stock shifter stick with the rubber isolater is garbage, but I like the height of the shift ****. I wouldnt want to go shorter than 1" shorter than stock. Anyone know where I can get something like this?

So what's the least notchy shifter? Is the SLP one smooth? I have a Pro 5.0 in there now with a 6" short stick and it's notchy as hell. I don't like the way the B&M stick bends. I want something that I can bolt the short stick up to. Would my stock shifter be the smoothest?
