its easy to teach in an f-body. it kind of calms them down because they have seen you do it so many times. it also helps to talk about what you are doing and what the car is doing when you are behind the wheel going somewhere. thats kind of the first test. if they seem to grasp whats going on when you explain it, they'll probably be okay practicing it. one thing my father used to have me do was sit in the car in the garage with the engine off and just practice shifting. later, he had me practicing powershifting and working on my timing, that can help her, too.

I let an ex-girlfriend drive my M6. It was her first time, but drove it better than people who have the know-how..cuz they always stalled at first (large cam & Spec III gets rookies all the time). I say give it a shot, just don't let her fry your clutch!

Well, I can attest to how easy these cars are to drive... The other day I rolled trough a corner, and then had to stop REALLY soon, I didn't see the red light, so I just pushed in the clutch and brake then stoped. As soon as I stopped the light changed, so I just let the clutch out and went as usuall.. The car bogged BAD, chugged and ****, but didn't stall, I was like wtf? I looked down and I was in 3rd... whatta noob.

my wife will only sit in the passenger seat. She doesn't know how to drive a manual, and she is 5'1, so she can hardly see over the steering wheel, and she is a horrible driver anyhow.

If she is halfway sensible let her try. But if she starts slipping it a bunch get her out and try teaching her in something else

If she ruins your clutch, its just gods way of telling you to get a better one.

lol. I'm 5'3". If I was any shorter I would have to modify the seat track in order to get close enough to the clutch pedal.

I let Lindsay (a girl I was talking to a while back) drive my T/A.. haha. Killed it the first time. I thought it was impossible in these cars... but she managed to do it. next time she gives er' way to much go pedal and lets out of the clutch wayyy to fast! . Well she squils them a little bit and does alright from there... forgot to push back in the clutch when we came to a stop... . But yeah, she gave up on that and hasnt drivin it since!

May as well teach her how to drive in the TA....what if she's riding with ya in it, and you hurt yourself, then she'd need to drive....better for her to learn now

I gave it a try with my GF. It is pretty hard to learn with a big cammed car and a 3.42 gear though I guess. She did OK, but then got scared that she was going to hurt something when the car was loping along slowly in 1st gear. I will teach her in something more civilzed and let come back to the Camaro later.

I let my gf try the other night... cammed m6 with 3.42s... she did OKAYish until we got to a stop sign and a car came up behind us. (It was really late in a unpopulated area or I wouldn't have let her drive on the streets yet)

It freaked her out just the fact that there was someone behind us and she killed it, badly... like 4 times.. I was getting really pissed off at her but I didn't want to hurt her feelings. God... every time she killed it, she did it hard, and i just knew she was ****** stuff up.

I let my 14 year old sister drive my car one day around the neighborhood. Only killed it once, I didn't want her to change gears though. Not sure why I let her drive actually.

That reminds me of goind down the road letting my 3 year old brother put his hands on the wheel thinking he was steering the car... ( my hands were on the lower part of the wheel btw )

BTW, this was going 5mph ( how ever fast they go with the brake pedal released in a automatic ) in a quite resedintial area in a 1997 Town and Country lxi mini van...
