Just got the clutch bleed have pedal pressure, car didn't engage so we had to adjust the master out, but now the clutch pedal is really high. So my question is has anyone else experianced this with the Cartek set-up. The clutch pedal is high. Did you have to move the pedal up a lot to get the clutch to take gears??? TIA..Michael

I had to set my adjustable to the shortest length of the rod. This brought the clutch closer to the floor for engagement. A High pedal would be too long a rod. YOu should not have that.

hmmmm, then I wonder what the probem is with mine, cause if we move the rod closer to the floor than I am unable to get the car ino gear when running. Could there be something wrong with the master itself?? Or what would cause the adjustment to have to be almost all the way out. Thanks again..Michael

I will give Cartek a call tomorrow and see what they say, but has anyone else had to move their pedal up with the Cartek set-up?? Could it be a bad master or what would cause this??? Thanks..Michael

I was thinking about this, and I was wondering could it be the Throw Out Bearing causing the problem? Maybe Cartek sent me the wrong unit or didn't add enough shims to it. Just a thought what do you guys think??

You might just have to live with the pedal being high. You would have been in a heep of trouble if you didn't have the adjustable master cyl. This is the whole point of the adj. m/c (i.e. It allows you to adjust the m/c for more travel if the clutch is not disengaging and hard to get into gear). I would just drive the car for about 100-200 miles. More than likely, you will have to adjust the m/c back down as the clutch breaks in.
Also, the whole point of the adjustable m/c is to eliminate the need for shims. There is a small shim in the TO bearing from GM, but that should be it.

hmmm...thanks for the reply. Cartek sent me the new throw out bearing. Its just a PITA having the pedal up that high, just seems odd to me. But you do have a point in the master having the adjustments. I will see what Dave @Cartek has to say about it. That would be sweet if after 100 or so miles I would be able to adjust it down. Really do appreciate you helping out..Thanks again, Michael

Spoke with Dave @Cartek...Dave stated that the problem is that there is air in the line which is the reason that the pedal had to be adjusted so high. He said to reverse bleed the unit again and fully unadjust the pedal and go from there. Dave also stated that the pedal should only be a tad above the brake pedal. So i guess we will have to try and re bleed the unit tonight. Hopefully this will resolve the problem. Thanks, Michael

After rebleeding the clutch w/the car at a slant so the slave wasn't at an angle we were able to move the clutch pedal down a little more so it isn't as high. The pedal is a little higher than stock still, but after 500 miles or so I will try to adjust it down some more. I am just glad that we were able to move the pedal down. Thanks again for everyone helping out...Michael
