At 70k miles I replaced my clutch with a stock clutch due to the deal I got on it and my car is basically stock performance wise. My next clutch will have to be better because of my next mods.

Spec stage III +, and I love it. Over 100 passes and 2 years old, and still as good as it was on day one.

Textralia OZ700, bad mamma jamma. I've heard good things about the Exo-Skel also, just couldn't afford it.

UPDATE ON BORG AND BECK 3 ROLLER WITH RAM IRON DISK

I tried the hays 10.5 inch Borg and Beck plate with the sintered disk. I only had it in for a short time and took it right back out. The 55 Chevy clutch linkage doesnt have the ratio required to move the bearing enough to disengage the clutch.

I switched back to my 11" Centerforce Dual Friction pressure plate with the 10.5 Ram 900 series disk. Pure Gold! Easy pedel, clean release and the clutch will tolorate the increased slippage off the line from using a muncie. Its been used a few months at the drags and still works well. Does not swell and stick from heat, and has the cleanest shift I ever had in that car. Nothing like a propper working clutch with a supremely smooth shifting trans like an old Muncie! You can't miss! However, the car could really use a lighter pressure plate even than this, but the last time I tried to talk with a tech at CF, they were uncooperative and would not tell me the static pressure of the D/F pressure plate. Just fed me some bull about that not meaning anything and all that matters is holding power. Aparently they do not understand the art of "tuning" a clutch...

Well... up until saturday, I would have been a stong advocate for Centerforce's Dual Friction, but I exploded a Pressure plate on a WOT 2-3 shift. Only ~8000 on the clutch.

Had just got off the dyno, 370 to the wheels.

Im putting a Spec Stage IV in my Corvette.
I have a spec stage3, as far as break in, I babied it for 900 miles. The transmission went out and I changed a few other things. I also put the cam and some other bolt ons. So the car had been down for about 8 months during all this. I finally got my car running and have been driving it for 3 months 70 miles a day. I got on it twice afer 4500 miles of easy driving, 2 roll on races and it is now slipping. Not very good in my opinion. I only have 410 hp. It has also chattered from day one and the pedal has not been to my liking. It is coming out this Friday.

I have a spec 3 and put about 20,000 on it. I loved it and had no problems at all with it. Now its slipping. Im going with the spec 3+ or the spec 4.

Default clutch

I am very happy with my spec 3 clutch. I guess I'll see how it will handle the power that will soon be added

I had a Centerforce Dual Friction that didn't last very long at all..wouldn't recommend it. I currently have an old Spec 3 that had to be rebalanced after a new motor was installed...is okay for daily driving but won't hold at the track after getting some heat in it. I think I will either try the Spec 5 or the OZ700SB with Xgrip disk or Exo-Skel dual disk. I voted Spec3 for now.

Stock clutch here at 128,xxx miles... *old man owned the car before me* than I broke into the 12's and the clutch slips now at WOT in third.

Probably going to an LS7/LS2 setup for my FM13/4.10/315 BFG's buildup this summer. I'd like it to hold a HSW N20 setup as well.. wel'll see.
