ok all here is a question, I read this whole post and i would reallylike to know if anyone has run a ZOOM HP the kevlar one, or a Centerforce dual friction.. these are the two im looking at purchasing. the car is a 1986 camaro skroked 383 tunedport, with a T-56 from a 1995 camaro in it. I would like a clutch thats drivable good pedal feel, dosent chatter much, and will hold up... its mainly a street driven car whats your opinion?
i havent herd much about either of these clutches. my brother has a ZOOM HP in his 66 supercharged mustang and it has held up great... let me know what you think

also i tried posting this elsewhere but no luck.... the stock flywheel is suposed to have a paint mark to line the pressureplate up to this flywheel doesnot have a paint mark? has anyone else had this problem? how should i line it up?

I had a Centerforce Dual Friction, drove very nicely on the street, but slipped on the dyno at 550 ft-lbs of torque on a mustang dyno

Default Exedy vs. Textralia

Any feedback from users of the Exedy HyperSingle vs. Textralia OZ?

Lotta smack (for a clutch), but better than goin back & forth 3-4 times a yr. This ain't no between rounds Pro Stock thrash-fest I'm looking for here.

Just in case it ain't said enough...Props to the Aussies for the 9/11 support !!

I have an 0Z700 w/xgrip.
I think its ok. One is it GRIPS like none other. Its a fantastic clutch. The second thing is it feels like stock and engages like stock.

I really dont mind having a stiff clutch. I'd like to be able to feel my clutch versus having a squishy sponge. I wouldnt necessarily call it "squishy," but its nothing like the stock 03/04 Cobra clutch or the RAM HD.
Ive only had the clutch in for about 3000 miles. I couldnt tell anybody how long it lasts, but Textralia rates it 8-15,000 miles race inspired driving. And over 40,000 miles with convservative street driving.

The negative thing is the huge price tag it has. If I could go back I would have probably bought the Ram HD or Centerforce, just because I dont think any clutch is worth over $1000. If you really want to spend that much for this clutch by all means go ahead. Its a fantastic feel, and it grips great on my car. One more negative thing about the clutch is it very unforgiving. You really have to get used to it. I have let two friends drive my car who have been driving sticks for well over 6 years and they killed it within the first 5 seconds because it takes some getting used to. It almost feels like it has an On/Off. Once you get used to it youll be fine though.
Its NOTHING like a Honda clutch where you can just let the clutch out as fast as you want and expect the car to stay on. If you let it out too fast your car will jump and die. I dont really mind that because Ive really gotten used to it and I like it.

Personally like I said earlier Id rather have something heavy then something light like this.
Hope this helps.

What does everyone recommend for my 396 LT1 with a 300shot? Everyday driver. Serious weekend track mayhem.

If you street drive her also, I suggest a ClutchMasters setup.
I have a bud that has a TT 98 LS1 and he said when the Turbos hit it is equivalent to a 300-350shot of power inrush. He has never had a slip and he said it drives like stock.

Something to consider.

Ram powergrip HD. this will be # 2, since #1 had an early death, due to my slave cylinder blowing out and covering it in oil.... before that, i loved it! broke a 10bolt o on the street w/ dragradials with it had 4 spec clutches before this one, a stage 1 and 3 stage 3s. the stage 1 made it to 13kiles, then, i mightve gotten 18 k out of the other 3 stage 3s. the centersprings kept popping out on em after 5k miles. i like the spec stage 3 when they worked, but reliability was an issue. that and their tendency to blow apart too....
