That's because '02 f-bods come with the LS6 clutch.

Textralia with billet steel flywheel. Pedal feel is good and grip seems to be good (but haven't raced it yet). However, it's chattering real bad. I'm hoping that since it's only got a couple hundred miles so far it might improve.

+1 on that Spec Stage 2. I am having some issues though.
I posted a thread on it.

If anyone has any help, please offer it.

1st clutch was the stock LS6, spun it bad after 5k miles
2nd clutch was a another LS6, spun it after 10k miles
3rd clutch was a SPEC 3 Carbon, it was very aggressiveon engaging, but held like crazy.. Lasted me 35,000 miles and numerous 6600rpm launches at the track
4th clutch is a SPEC 3i. Have not been real pleased with it. It spun on the big end on the street, and then got hot during the first burnout I ever did with it at the track. It's out of the car right now and everything looks "ok" with it and it is going back in with my 408... I really don't have high expectations for it though.

My next clutch will either be a SPEC 5, or one of the multi-disc setups. (Probably a textralia Exo-Skel)

Spec 5 here on a DD. 3000+ miles so far. No complaints aside from the squealing.

Strangely enough I still have the stock LS6 clutch. Before I did the heads, I managed a 12.4@113 with abosolutely no slipping.... I am not sure what is going on, but hey if it isn't broke....

Spec 3 with McLeod Master and McLeod Slave. No problems in 15 months and 15,000 miles. Very precise engagement no slop with McLeod slave. No slipping this clutch though.

LS-7 here has held up to several hole shots but haven't gone to track yet, also only stock HP. Time will tell.

Ram Powergrip here (the dual friction disc) with their billet steel flywheel...pedal is a bit heavy, and it chatters fairly regularly, but I have about 25k miles on it, so I can't be too disappointed. Next clutch will most likely be an LS7 or Luk Pro Gold. I think I'm gonna tailor my ultimate power goals to what I can get a perfectly streetable clutch to hold (no chatter wanted, and I want a lighter pedal). I think a H/C 346, a rear with 4.11s, and a Luk clutch would probably be a nice, street friendly (and girlfriend friendly) combo. I want her to be able to drive it without getting scared to death when the chatter starts...

Or maybe the RPS clutch...just don't know anyone who has driven one personally. I just want a lightweight flywheel, no chatter, and a light pedal. You know. The perfect clutch. Oh yeah, and it should hold 1000+ RWHP

1.Went from stock LS6 at 9k miles to ****=SPEC St. 3 (first one sent to me had warped PP from factory )

2. New **** St. 3 to replace one w/ warped PP

3. Killed **** clutch disk in dreaded ATL traffic after 6k miles and wouldnt hook on BFG DR's so ordered second **** St. 3 hoping for better results. After 800 miles the disk to a dump and springs came out of the disk

4. Back to stock LS6 clutch that came out....saving for Textralia

Im asked by my buddies all the time why i did not call **** clutches and get them to replace the busted one with 800 miles. With my experiences I will not use one of thier clutch If someone offered it to me for free and would even install it for free. I would not even get them to replace it and sell the new one b/c I would feel bad selling someone something that WILL FAIL.
