M6 to A4- clutch pos. switch
When switching from M6 to A4, is the pcm going to care about the clutch position switch(s)? There are 2 switches that the clutch pedal make contact with, one in the released position and one when you press the clutch. Should you just remove these switches?

coopdog, how is the swap going? Are you about ready for the track? Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, just wanted to find out how everything was coming along. Take it easy and I will talk to you later. Let me know when you are ready to head up to the track....Michael

Re: M6 to A4- clutch pos. switch
I was throwing two codes related to driveline after my swap.
One was the skipshift code the other was Man. Spec.( not real sure what it was specifically).
I had those programmed out.
I avoided the car not starting without a depressed clutch pedal, by keeping the pedal return spring in and it stays to the floor.
You may be taking your assembly out, but it doesn't really bother me or get in the way.
Good Luck on your venture, I hope things work out for you.

Michael,
Hows it goin on your end? I don't have my trans yet, Yank is waiting on the manual valvebody, which should be there today. I have all of the 6 speed stuff removed though.
Dave,
So you're saying if the clutch pedal remains sprung to the floor, it shouldn't throw any codes. I'm not worried about the skip shift, thats been taken care of.

Coopdog, I had izzo to a M6 to TH400 conversion for me, then I had BV delete all the codes that would be set from it...

Re: M6 to A4- clutch pos. switch
I've never pulled the clutch pedal to test it, but in theory yes.
The T-56 is mechanically linked as is my 4L70, the computer just wants to see that the clutch pedal is depressed before starting, and the spring is strong enough to hold it there permanently.
Like I said, some people like to remove it, but it doesn't bother me, I just plugged the hole left by the master cyl.

I think my master cylinder is still in the car from what my installer told me, my pedal is still there and its not a dead pedal either, its like it was always "normally"
