Which short stick (TNA, LSS, UMI, WS6, etc.)
I just bought an '01 SS and my first planned mod is a short stick for the factory Hurst shifter. I have done several searches, but I'm still not sure which one to go with. Mainly, I'm uncertain about straight vs. angled.
I would appreciate feedback and opinions as to why you like a particular style or brand!

I put a Hurst Billet plus shifter in my car and the Hurst stick that came with it was way too tall. I picked up a WS6 store 6" short straight stick for $25 shipped on ebay and it's great for me. It took a bit of getting used to being so short but I like it. It's chromed too so it looks pretty. I didn't want the angled because I figured it'd screw my shifting up since I'm used to a straight stick from the stock shifter for the past almost 4 years.

I had a stock stick cut down and recently replaced it with a WS6 store stick. It actually raised it up by an inch. It took just a little bit to get use to, but I love it. Blew out the clutch with it though, nothing to do with the stick. Awesome Product

Looking at the pictures of the stock vs. WS6 sticks, it looks like the WS6 would sit further to the right than the stock stick did. Does this cause any problems? That's why I'm wondering if the angled sticks would be better, or the TNA stick which is straight but has a spacer to move it back to the left a bit.

My WS6 stick doesn't sit further to the right than stock. It's in the same place my stock handle was as far as I can tell. I like it and it's not uncomfortable or odd to use.

I like the angled stick (UMI) it's more comfortable for me, the ball of the shifter falls right where my hand is, and I don't feel I'm having to reach for the shifter handle
Kind of hard to describe in words how it feels, but it's more "natural" (at least for the way I sit and drive)

I have the WS6 store 6" on our stock hurst, and we both love it. When its in first, it does sit to the right a little bit (looks like its in 3rd) but the feel is great, and the shifts are so much better without the long stick, and stupid bushing.

I have a UMI/stock hurst shifter and I cut an inch off of the UMI. I LOVE IT. It barely bumps the console in 2nd gear though, but I remove the console whenever I race. I use a 2" mba ball.

Thanks for all the great feedback! I think I'm leaning towards either the TNA racing or the UMI.
Has anyone tried the TNA stick?
For those with the UMI, does the angle put the shift **** back close to where it was stock, or is it further over to the left side?

I have the WS6store shifter and the stock Hurst **** and it kicks ***. WS6store shipped very fast as well. No problems and the throw is great, very sturdy as well with the rubber bushing gone now. Great price too.

It is all in preference. If you can not feel, or drive a friends car with a pro 5.0, just order the short stick and test it on your hurst. I wanted to order a pro 5.0.....until I installed a short stick. That is all the stock hurst needs IMO
