Default Installing ws6 short stick

I ordered a WS6 SS yesterday and it says that you do not need to pull your console off for the install.

Can anyone verify this?

I checked install university and they took off the console before installing their short stick.

Just remove the leather that is around the shifter. Take the shifter **** off, then unclip the plastic holding the leather to the console and slide it over the shifter. Remove the two bolts, old shifter, reinstall the new one, replace leather, replace ****, go for a drive!

Actually, there is four 10mm screws that hold the top of the counsel on. 2 in the center counsel storage compartment and 1 on each side where the top part connects to the bottom of the dash. Real Easy. You could unclip the leather from the counsel but be aware that the clips break really easy, plus You dont have as much room to work. oh yeah, it would also be a good idea to use some blue lock tight on the mounting bolts.

its really easy to install... just take off the **** and the leather boot unbolt the old one and install the new one. make sure you get those bolts nice and tight because ive heard of people saying that they come loose.

Simple to do. You don;t have to remove the entire middle console just remove the leather boot but be careful and don't break the clips. You can move the shifter around to get room to tighten the bolts.

No need in removing any bolts. There is plenty of room to do the swap with just the leather piece gone.

yes, do not take off ANY piece of the console. There are some tabs that hold the leather boot into the console, just pull up and toward the dash at the same time to get those off. Unscrew the shift ****. Remove the boot. Take out screws that hold the factory shift **** onto the base of the shifter. replace with ws6 shifter and bolts. reinstall boot and shift ****. Its a nice SS by the way, i love mine.
