Default ws6 store short shifter

I bought this shifter and just installed it in 10 minutes. one of the best mods to my car. I'm not one for short shifters...i've never ever missed the 2-3 shift in my car. the only reason i got it was I got a new shift ****..that sat entirely to high. I put this in and it made such a huge difference. The shifts are more positive and you know exactly when it gets into gear. just thoguht I'd share..cause it only cost 25 shipped.

Looks to be the same as Lou Salzano's "short stick", only much cheaper. I have had one for a while and I agree - a good mod that makes shifting feel much cleaner.

WS6store short stick here also. I like how much stiffer it is when in gear than the stocker. I could shake the stocker back & fourth while in gear, not anymore though. When its in gear its in gear.

WS6 store short stick = CRAP! I bought the 6 inch stick and it slammed into my center console every time i shifted into 2nd and 4th. I thought I cracked it one time. I took it off after a day and put the stock stick back in. Waste of 25$.

This was 1st mod i did to the car and its been great. I got it when they were havin a deal and I think i paid $15 shipped for it. Anyway it clears the console just fine, you should double check the install on it.

I have the 6" stick with the factory Hurst and sometimes my **** touches the boot retainer ring when I put it in second, but when I let go of the stick it rests just off of it. Since the holes in the stick are much larger than the bolts that go through them, I'm just going to rig up some nylon shims for them and see what happens.

I have the normal factory shifter. I'm sure it works fine with an aftermarket shifter but witht he stock one its no good. WS6 store said it would fit the stock shifter fine and it doesnt. I bought the stick so that I wouldnt have to buy a whole shifter but it didnt work out that way.

You got problems then. Mine is on the stock shifter & it doesn't slam into my console. Your the only person I have seen complain. Seems kinda wierd since they sell a *** load of them.

Well i have a regular trans am, which doesnt have the factory installed hurst shifter. Maybe with the hurst it works, but not with the normal shifter. Hhowver WS6 store never stated that it wasnt suited for the non-factory installed hurst shifter. I know its called WS6 store and WS6s have the hurst, but it should have been stated that it wouldnt work with a normal shifter.

not all ws6's have the hurst had to change to a factory hurst so it wouldn't hit the console

Dude i have the same problem.. i was getting ready to make a thread about it ,... it kinda sucks... when im in reverse, the stick is up against the right part of the console..

And when im in 1st gear... it was normally where 3rd gear was on the pro 5.0 handle..

However its a nice short stick, and ill ride it out , BTW, i love my ripped up shifter boot
