Questions on LS7 Clutch Kit
OK guys I have a 2000 Trans Am WS6 and with 70,000 on her she just dropped the stock clutch last night. I will be doing the work with my girls dad this weekend he is a chevy mechanic and he can get the GM parts for cheap seeing how he works at the dealership. My question is....is it true that I should upgrade to a 01'-02' slave cylinder w/ t/o bearing when doing this because I just want to make sure I get this done right. I was told also to get a new pilot bearing but that's pretty much all I will need to do this install. I just want to make sure and if anyone can offer up any advice to anything else I will need to complete this please feel free. Thanks alot guys and I plan on going with this clutch setup because I see allot of people happy with the outcome after the install.
Parts list:
LS7 clutch kit
LS2 Flywheel
?? Slave Cylinder w/ T/O bearing??
LS1 Pilot bearing
(Please let me know if I need anything else)
Thanks guys.

Ok so ran into a small problem I am having trouble finding out what the part # and est. price$$ would be for these parts.... I called the GM dealer near me because that's where I will be getting the parts from because I can get a pretty nice discount on them but I gave them these part #'s maybe you guys can tell me if there correct because I had some confusion when I called SDPC today with the part #'s he had and I had from GM??? Also I was told there is no pressure plate just a clutch and flywheel am I correct I heard it from someone else on the board???
LS7 clutch & PP (not sure if pp is needed) # 24236500
LS2 flywheel 12571611
Slave cylinder w/ T/O bearing ( i believe this is the upgraded one) # 15046288
LS1 pilot bearing # 14061685
thanks again for the help guys and you guys think i should get ARP bolts to replace the factory one's??

But if the LS2 and LS7 are the same part # then technically I do have the LS2 flywheel correct?? I talked to Jean @ Fred Beans and he said that the LS7 flywheel is the exact same as the LS2 flywheel.....?????? I don't won't to get screwed with this install and start tearing stuff apart then have the wrong flywheel so could someone please definetely tell me if I was given the correct info and Mike if you know I need the LS2 flywheel where did you get yours from and what was the part # if you have it handy?? Thanks guys.

Ok here's what I just got from Jeremy @ Fred Beans he said the LS7 Vette and it's clutch uses the LS2 flywheel they are the same thing. They call the LS7 clutch and Flywheel a LS7 clutch kit but it really is a LS2 flywheel. So...I am now happy beleiving that I do have the correct parts and my girls dad is helping me with the install him being a mechanic and all, but he said he's going to be pissed if I get the wrong parts and we already have the car all apart so gotta keep the big guy happy.

Give these guys a call they will be able to take care of you...they threw together a package for me and it was way cheaper than getting it from a dealership.... Nice guys too over there and they know what they are talking about.

Shermz, we are in the same boat my man. I got a 2000 WS6 too, the tranny is fucked in mine and its getting rebuilt under warranty so im gonna have them throw an LS7 clutch/ flywheel in there at the same time. I can't wait.
