Default T-56 Differences?

Ok ive been attempting to order an ls1 and i noticed the automatic motorsets are usually better priced and in some situations better conditioned. ive also noticed LT-1 motorsets apparantly came with a T-56 as well? Im completely new to this but here is my question.

1.) Are T-56's the same between LT1 and LS1
2.) If so will they bolt to either motor (or will i need to interchange bellhousings
3.) Can I use the clutch and flywheel from an LT1
4.) Are LT1 F Body clutch master cylidners and clutch lines interchangeable

sorry for the rather noob questions but i dont even know where to begin to find this information.

No, I am sure to three of four. The clutches actuate differently (push vs pull), the bellhousings are different. Master and lines I have no idea.

Do some more digging around. There are a ton of pictures on the Internet of both LT1 style T56s and LS1 style T56s. The input shafts are different lenghts, the clutch actuation is different as are the hydraulics. The gear ratios I believe are also different.

1993 offered two T-56's with different ratios. Ratios are identical 1994-2002.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew there were some differences, but was vague on the details.

While that statement is true for F acrs it is not true for all T56s. There are 1st-4th ratios, different synchro and OD ratios thrown into the mix when the other applications are considered.

True, true...So the lesson here is that not all T56s are the same. Make sure you know what you need and what you are looking at.

My understanding is they can be converted... but cost wise isn't worth it, but lt1's supposedly have less problems from the research I've done.
