Default Just installed Hurst Billet Plus Shifter

I Just installed my Hurst Billtet plus "short" shifter. But to my disapointment, the throw is not that much shorter than my stock shifter. Half the reason is proabbly that the stick that comes on the shifter is HUGE. Its taller than my stock stick. But I had a WS6 store short stick laying around, so i bolted that on. Its the 6" stick, and now the shifts are ridiculously short. Almost too short. I'm proabbly going to be getting either the 6.5" WS6 store stick or something else. Any one have any ideas? Also, does anyone else have this shifter and was the stick also way to tall?
If I knew how to post pics I would.

I have had this shifter for about 5 yrs now and Love it.
I swapped over to a Lou's short stick and removed some of the springs in the shifter and It made it so much better.
It feels smooth like the stock shifter but retains the positive feel and the short throw.

I have the same shifter. It is the older version that leans towards the driver. Not the one with the crook in it.

i jut put mine in and it came with the long chrome stick and the ball with the pattern in it. i put my lous short stick on and it is realllllly short now. it actually tough to have enough leverage to move it sideways in neutral. once you start rowing the gears, it is impecable though.

I have the old style Hurst....the one that leans towards the driver. it had about 1.5" of thread on it and I cut about .5" off of that. I think it is just right now.
