Tranny Swap..Auto for a Manual...
Right now I have a red ls1 [98 trans am]
and it has a 4L60E in it and I wanna swap it for a 6
speed manual.... What one would fit and be best...
[This car is a saturday night racer and it just isn't racing
without the stick shift]
So Someone tell me which is best...
Email me if possible.

Chelsea,
The 4L60E you have would be perfect for saturday night racing, I would just add a stall converter in it. STOCK stalled f-bodys will beat a small cammed six speed fbody anyday outta the week, IMO. Nothing shifts faster than an automatic.
Do a search on stall converters in the automatic section, and see what kind of quarter mile times these cars are making.
But if you have your heart set on a six speed look in the for sale classifieds, or ebay.
If you want a tranny that is top of the line and will take anything you throw at it, I would contact Joe and Amber at T56Rebuilds.com.
