Default Is there a trick to removing M6 shift ****?

I have the factory hurst shifter and **** and just got the WS6store short stick. I am trying to install it but can't remove the ****. I have pretty tried to turn it counter-clockwise for about 25 mins now and it won't "pop" loose. I can get the "H" turned about 45* but it just won't pop. any help or other things to try? I am going to keep the **** so I would prefer not to destory it. I don't have one of those jar openers either.

Thanks,
Matt

NOPE. LISTEN--if u are really having trouble... .....you can try this..get a small towel..triple wrap it around the bottom/base..get a good sized Vice Grip...clamp it ..and turn COUNTERCLOCKWISE...may get it done..[I love vicegrips]....let us know.

Yes, there is a trick to removing it... Get a real good grip on it and turn it counter clock-wise.

Seriously though, you've got to put some serious muscle into it due to the thread locker that comes on it from the factory.

It just spins off counter-clockwise like other right-hand fasteners. Try the towel and vice-grip trick someone else mentioned. Good luck!

I finally got it off...I put several layers of masking tape on the **** so it wouldn't get messed up and then tightened down a pipe wrench on it. I love the WS6store.com stick though, it's great!
