Default just got the RAM Powergrip HD installed...

So i just got my car back today and i havent really tested out the clutch, going to wait a few hundred miles. The pedal is stiffer than stock but feels good. There is some chatter if you dont give it enough gas but it hardly chattered on me.
My only real problem is the engagement point on the pedal. The clutch engages right at the top with maybe 1/4 inch of play. What can i do to lower the engagement point to maybe about half pedal?
I heard an adjustable master cylinder would help but im not sure.

also, the car seems to vibrate just a little at low rpm's, is this normal? and when i get on half throttle it seems like the clutch spins a little bit. It revs up then goes.

can anyone help me out???

Not real familiar, but did you use a shim?

Did you use the shim when you installed the clutch? If you didn't, there is a chance that your clutch is not fully engaging. Also if you got your flywheel turned, i'm pretty sure the shim is Required... Just a suggestion.
I used the shim, and have an adjustable master. I have mine engaging right in the middle of travel of the pedal.

well i ordered the ram adjustable master cylinder and i called ram and they said to get that adjustable master and that my car may not even have needed the shim...

My main concern is that the clutch is slipping when i get on the gas, it will rev up first and then engage. when i called ram they also said the adjustable master should help out in this issue as well. I tried calling TSP for a 2nd opinion but i couldnt get thru on the phone

already ordered the adjustable master and i did use the shim. its been a couple hundred miles already and it seems like the clutch slips at half throttle before engaging still.

Sounds like he didn't use the provided plate (shim) for the slave.

Just a guess though... I've had none of these issues.

He did use the shim, he said so. I had the exact same problem with my factory master cylinder. My Powergrip HD lasted 420 miles, then it was trashed! I had to rev my motor up to 3500 the last day to get it to engage and couldnt get it to stick in any gear higher than third even going 70.

Without the shim the engagement is almost on the floor. This clutch DEFINITELY needs and adjustable master cylinder! I ordered one from McCLoud per HPE's recommendations. It will be put in when I get back from the sandbox but trust me this clutch needs the adj master cylinder!!

Got ya, adj. master cylinder may be in order then.

Kinda funny, I've had none of these issues with my clutch at all.

However, it is not as streetable as the stock clutch. Not too too bad though.

I've got about....1200 miles on mine now.

I have the HD. It chatters a little bit, but it's all good. Chatter lets you know you aren't driving fast enough!

I used the shim and the engagement is 1/2 way down. I love my clutch!!

I ordered a stock replacement Master and slave from ws6store and i'm gonna be having a RAM HDX clutch installed. It's a little less aggressive then the Powergrip so i hope i don't have the problems you guys do.~Cole~

Hmm I got the same clutch, I did new OEM master and slave, and the guy used the shim, it engages about half an inch from the halway point towards the top. Yes the car if not given enough gas it will shake the ****, but I dont have that slipping problem you seem to have. Hope you get it fixed and enjoy the clutch its freakin sweet! This clutch + BFG DRS will make you car fly out of the hole!

well. i don't use a shim with my ram hd and it works fine. seems to engage a lil low on the pedal but it's fine. at first i used the shim and the clutch wouldn't fully engage so i had to yank it all apart and pull out the shim... maybe ur shim is a too thick. maybe u need to take it out???

I didnt shim my Powergrip when I had it. My Ram twin did not need one, but does require the adjustable master.
