How to test for loose Flywheel??
Well i think one of my flywheel bolts may have backed out some. I hear a rattle at idle, but its a 50/50 chance it could just be my exhaust. and i do have quite a bit of raddling/vibrations going on when i turn the car off, again this could also be my exhaust(y-pipe hitting) The vibrations when turning the car off have always been there, even with the stock clutch/flywheel, and when i replaced the clutch they FW bolts were VERY tight. all noises go away while the is moving or accelerating(could be exhaust covering it up). noises are only when its idling.
but i was wondering if there is a way to test if the flywheel is loose. i remember hearing somewhere that you can rev the car and shut it off real quick and if theres a loud clunk or noise the flywheel is loose. Dont flame me if thats complete BS, i just remember hearing it somewhere.
Any help, or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I had a shop install my first clutch, a spec stage 2.
I worked great for about a year and then the clutch started engaging closer and closer to the floor. Eventually I could not get the car into gear with the clutch pedal all the way on the floor. I tried replacing the master, and that did not help. Eventually I took my tranny down and started to replace my clutch. When I got to the Pressure plate to flywheel bolts several were finger loose!!!!! Needless to say, the shop had not tightened the PP bolts enough. I will never let a shop work on my car again. I used Red Loctite on the PP bolts when I put it back together.
I don't know what would happen with loose flywheel to crank bolts, but I would think that the clutch would not be disengaging properly if they were loose.

like i said uptop, ive never had any engagement issues. i just think a single bolt my be backing up. i think im just going to go ahead and pull my exhaust off, and line it all back up to get rid of all the extra noise i can. if its still there after that, then i know its in the trans somewhere....god i hope i dont have to pull the damn thing again. what a PITA(jackstands)

I had a flywheel bolt fall out while driving at 65mph.
No previous warning.....just a sound from under the car like I'd run over a sack full of aluminium cans / machine gun firing.
The stray bolt took out the bell housing and starter motor.
