was thinkin about getting the ram clutch powergrip set ...is this a good clutch for the money? or is there better ones for less or around the same price?

A lot of people use the RAM clutches and have good stories about them. I would at least have the flywheel resurfaced and be sure to buy a new slave cylinder.

good points - i would replace the slave cylinder, and pilot bearing($11.00)

i would NOT however get the stock flywheel resurfaced, unless they can do it with just one pass.

i had an overheated flywheel that i had resurfaced, they had to go over it a few times to get the surface right. it threw the thing out of balance, the motor did not want to rev. i'd just buy a new one from RAM.

I would not get it resurfaced either, I would get a new one if it was my car.

So, the Ram is a good 400-500 rwhp clutch? I had a Spec 3 that I had to replace twice, they finally took care of it. Terrible vibration. Not sure sure I want to deal with that again, so I'm also wondering about the Ram.

just my experience - when you get parts from the same company, they seem to work better together.

stock resurfaced flywheel + spec3 clutch = CRAZY CHATTER AND VIBRATION - spec billet flywheel + spec3 clutch = like butta

Its a good idea to at least consider the new flywheel. The Powergrip would be fine for your car, if you plan on much upgrading in the near future go with the HD (and billet flywheel), or look at the Street Dual Super smooth.

What about a RAM powergrip HD and a brand new stock LS1-LS6 flywheel? I've already blown my budget and I want to replace the LS7 clutch setup I have in there now...

If your working on a budget and want a strong clutch, Ram Powergrip HD is the way to go.

It will take anything you can throw at it and beg for more. It's really that tough.

I also got mine thru NewEra.
