who else is using the Spec Super twin?
I talked to Jeremy at spec today and he asked for these Measurements;
Also He says their have only been 2 people with problems so far, also It seems to be LS2 related. I think the LSX block is derived from the LS2 so that might be why I have a problem???
Jeremy at spec was very helpfull! I will keep everyone posted on the out come of this!!!
Here is what I have for measurements;
Spec clutch from back of flywheel to fingers on clutch 3.450"
Old clutch same way 3.150"
Lower disk (flywheel side) 0.343"
Floater plate 0.315"
Upper disk (tranny side) 0.335"
Metal plate in diaphragm 0.277"
Also With every thing sitting together but not tightened down there is 0.080" gap between the flywheel and clutch diaphragm (seemed like there should be more gap?)
Also the Gm part#'s for the hydrolics I have are; ( I bought them through sdpc)
Master 1257077
Slave 15046288

Oh yeah- odd- my lower disk had more wear than my upper, yours is the opposite. Jeremy told me it is normal for the lower to have more wear. Strange. Also, I had .060 gap between the pressure plate and flywheel- so you are doing better than me lol. I think Jeremy said it was supposed to be .100, maybe more but I can't remember for sure.

I have about 1000-1500 or so. It is fine, but the pedal is back to being on-off all the way at the top and it chatters like a son of a bitch. Not even chatter like a little shake as it's engaging- chatter like "slip-bang bang-full grab" when trying to take off lol. Sucks to drive in traffic, but that's also a price I'm willing to pay to daily drive a 800whp car lol.

yesterday I felt the clutch do as previously described in this thread... the actuation point moved from each time I used the pedal... moved low once and then back to the very top next time... weird lol
Hmm, dowels now? When I asked them why there weren't any, I was told they aren't needed.. Strange. Also, can you possibly measure the depth of the "dish" and the thickness of the disks by any chance? I'm curious what the overall measurement differences are between yours and how they "fixed" mine.
As for the fingers being crooked as you tighten it down, that's not normal if it is fully tightened- but if it isn't tightened/torqued down fully all around, it will do that.

They cut 0.175" out of the flywheel, Both disks measure 0.345", the floater plate measures 0.315", And the total installed hight (back of flywheel to front of fingers is about 3.260"
I talked to Jeremy at Spec He says that until the clutch is installed and broken in the fingers might be un even. He says this is normal.

I got the Clutch back it today! I have about 20-30 miles on it and the clutch is Great! It was a day and night differance between the other clutch and this one! It has a great factory feel and I can slip it to get a great even take off from a stop!! So far I am very Happy with this clutch!!!!

what disks are you using?
The first clutch was the organtic compound, this one is the carbon graphite compound. They upgraded materials in exchange for return shipping and aggravation!
I love the clutch!!! and the remote Bleeder I got from LPP Works like a dream!! Very awsome product!!

I'll measure all the disks too.
