alright my guy at my local shop who did my motor work was telling me that Spec clutches are just ****, and not to buy one.
he recommends getting a Bully Stage 5 clutch, he said i can get a stage 3, but a stage 5 is barely more money, and wont feel any different, and last a bit longer.
he also said it still will chatter at slow rpm clutch slips, but feed it some rpms and itll last forever.
he just put one in is 900 hp Nova 4 speed. said he loves it,
im either getting this "bully" clutch or an ls7 clutch i think.
im 99% street driven, track maybe once a year. but when i go im running drag radials, and am dumping the clutch from 5000-6000 rpm.

I would give the Bully Clutch a chance.
Reason being, Bully is owned by Ottawa Clutch Company with has been around since 1930. They know their ****.......
just google both
Bully Clutch
Ottawa Clutch
it will tell you all about them
I trust Mcleod clutches because they have been around for a long time... Not as long as Ottawa clutch but still a long time!

well 99% of the people who think spec is crap are idiots that havent installed them right or broken them in right, and yes, just like every clutch, there are some defective ones.
that said, nobody that makes a real stage 5 clutch is in any shape form or fassion suited for a daily driver car unless these peoples stage five is like a spec 3 material, but if its holding in a 900hp car i highly doubt its that weak.
some of the fastest 6speed cars have run specs with no problems, take that for what its worth.
the best one that i would go with is a mcloud twin disk

being that mine is such a daily driver would the ls7 clutch be any good?
but would it hold up to say 15 passes a year at 5000 clutch dropping on dr's?
id like to see about 3 years, or about 8000-10000 miles.

A long time ago thread, but I'm ordering a stage 3 Bully with organic 6 puck upgrade for my Z06. This would be about equal in power handling of a Tex OZ700. These clutches are second to NONE guys. They dont break! Ask me how I know.

Shocker, though I can appreciate your mechanics perspective...there are thousands of folks that have used our parts without issue in cars that are street-driven, drag-raced, road-raced and endurance raced too. That being said, what kind of torque are you making? Let me know and I will be happy to provide a recomendation. Thanks!

Im getting stage 3 like I posted. Holding power similar to OZ700. Im paying $ just over $1000 Canadian funds shipped to me!! So you American boys would save some coin! My tuner up here has some wild LS engine combos. Last year he did a Saturn Sky roadster with a TT LS2 in it with a Bully clutch. Bully makes special 'boosted" clutches.Big bucks too!! Well my tuner told me they drove the bejesus outta that sky last year and could not hurt the clutch. Oh and it only puts out 720hp at the rear wheels.
