Default Textralia Pressure Plate Stamped LUK

I just received my textralia oz700 today and noticed the pressure plate is stamped LUK. Stock clutches are LUK and was wondering what the deal was. Do they take stock pressure plates and paint em up give ya a good disk and fancy flywheel and put a $1000.00 price tag. Anybody else notice this or are all aftermarket ones stamped this way.

nah, they are custom pressure plates, jsut produced by LUK for textralia. you will find that most performance clutches have that stamp on them. LUK is the largest clutch and clutch part manufacturer around.

I wonder if it is the same as the Luk Gold clutches.

I highly doubt it. From my research I have found that the Luk Gold clutch is the same as a LS6 clutch, but with a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel.

If you look there are two p/n's. One with the aluminum flywheel and one without. What's odd is if you check the part numbers at autozone, there's little difference in price between the aluminum and steel flywheel.

I saw that as well. My only guess is perhaps 1 comes with the aluminum flywheel, and the other comes with a billet steel flywheel. That would explain why there isn't a large difference in price.

I just want to cover a couple of points here. The part that you are talking about that is stamped with LUK is called the cover. Many companies will use LUK or other covers since steel stamping tooling is expensive. Inside the cover there is the pressure plate and the spring. Many companies will buy the covers and install a custom spring and their own pressure plate. I am sure that is what Textralia is doing.
