Default Keeping master line away from headers?

My last hydrolics got messed up because the stainless master line got too close to the headers and the fliud became burnt.

What is the best way to keep the line away from the heat?

I was thinking some heavy guage tin foil wraped around the line???

You could use header wrap. That would be your best bet.

Many have used the aluminum foil wrapped with some DEI heat tape and even put a hose over that.

If you can still fit the shield, those make a big difference too. I know with headers they do not always fit though. Anything to separate the component from the heat will reduce the temps at the line.

When i do my tranny, im going to wrap the line in header wrap and try to keep it away as much as possible from any heat.

Right. I even took my shield off and polished the crap out of it. Whenever I'm under the car, I make sure it's clean and as reflective as I can get it.

I also put a thermo sleeve (the silver reflective stuff) from summit around the line.

Its not the line that cooks the fluid as much as its the fluid that goes into or around the slave, the trans is the worst when it comes to heat soaking.

But I took rubber fuel line, then wrapped it in aluminum tape.

On my car, there is just no way to keep the line off the header. So...here is what I did. There are pics too..just scroll down.

I was toying with the idea of making a hole with a grommet and routing the line inside the car, then back outside through the firewall. I dont know if that is possible with the stock line, but maybe a custom braided line. Now if there was only a way to keep the slave from boiling the fluid....hmmmmm
