T56 Won't go into gear...
When the car is running and I push the clutch I can't get it to go in any gear... The only way I can get in any gear aside from EXTREME force is to turn it off then select the gear. Help...

Is the clutch stock? Raise the car off the ground completely and then remove the starter. Have some get ing the car and push the clutch in. Check to see if it actually pulls the disk off the flywheel.

It is a SPEC III Kevlar and it has been in the car for over a year now with no problems only great grabbing... until this fiasco. I suspect the hydraulics as they are stock and now have over 80K on them. It is also a 99" without the "revised" slave. Any ideas???

Buy a new slave and an adjustable master cylinder. If I were you I would consider swapping to a RAM clutch since you have to pull the trans anyway.

SKYWALKR: I had the EXACT same problem about 3 weeks ago. The only way to get the car in gear is to turn it off. Also, there is only about an inch or two of travel in the clutch pedal? I know the feeling. It was my master cylinder. I got a new master cylinder (the updated version) and now my clutch is better than it ever was. Email me if you have any questions. Trust me, its your master cylinder.

Thanks 30TH_TA. You descibed it almost to a T. I'm going to go ahead and get the Mcleod/Aluminum/CFDS/12Bolt. And hopefully be done with the drivetrain for a while. It looks like I will have to put it in gear, start it, pull it forward, turn it off, put it in reverse, start it, and then back it on a trailer to take to MTI. About 600 breakin mile later I'm puttin it on the ET Streets and comin out hard ... break um in hard, they run hard Thanks again fellas...
