Textralia or LS7?
The reason why there is a census is because for a long time this was one of the only clutches people could go with, just in sheer volume has enabled everyone to see how they are.
I know your kicking the idea around but seriously, get the spec and see how long it last. the price diff isnt really much at all.

i have almost 40 on mine and i love it. speed shifts nice and easy and the wife can still drive if if she has too

Ok, I just got back from the track and it became apparent that I need a clutch much more than I thought I did. My stock(LS6) clutch is heating up way too much, I lost the pedal on a couple of my runs. It has seen a hard 17K miles but it got me thinking; do I want another stock GM clutch? Just one night of racing puts an unbelievable amount of abuse on the clutch, even if I occasionally ran it I feel like it should have a clutch that's up to the task.
I had the "Z" grip in the car in May. I hated it. It did have the stock pedal feel, but the chatter was the worst. I thought my mirrors were gonna fall off! It was embarrassing to be in traffic when you have to clutch dump to keep the chatter down. After 732 miles, I replaced it with the LS7. I have 850 miles on that and it's smooth as silk. It ran 12.45 at the track with a 2.0 60' on street tires.

Another update. As of now I think I am going with a Textralia Z-Grip and Tick adjustable master, along with a new pilot bearing, slave, etc.

Bump for a great thread. I've been fighting with some of the same decisions.
I installed a LS7 clutch about 15K miles ago and have been very, very pleased with it's performance thus far. My car puts down 440/408 NA, I'm still running a stock 10 bolt with 3.90's and I almost always run on street radials. I've always babied the car out of the hole (that will change once the 9" rear is installed), so I can't speak much to the durability after a season of 5,000 rpm launches on sticky tires. Like most of the others noted, the LS7 has the street manners of a stock clutch with much more holding power.
I recently installed a nitrous kit and for now I'm just running a 100 rwhp baby shot -- so far, the LS7 has held up to several roll races on the N2O, however I think when I upgrade the rear and add a sticky tire, I will need to upgrade to the Textralia Z grip.

the chatter isn't that bad considering you run with solid motor mounts like i do, your probably use to the car shaking and rattling in different places. I have the tex twin and tripple disc in two different f bodies, I am told that they chatter more than the single, when I am at a stop and the clutch is pressed down, it does chatter quite a bit, but if I pull the trans out to neutral and release the clutch pedal, no chatter at all, not sure but might work on the single disc as well if you do decide to go the tex route

I wouldn't go with the ls7 especially if you plan on doing any other mods. The ls7 can hold the power of the vettes because of the power to weight ratio so adding more weight(the vehicle) will decrease the amount of power the clutch will hold and therefore cause more stress to it. Also if you plan on taking your car to the track the ls7 will not last long at all. The tex is a nice clutch but very pricey, I would go with that or with a monster clutch they have had really good reviews and have very nice clutches at an affordable price check out their website www.monsterclutches.com and you can call SNL Performance (817-750-2000) they actually own monster clutches and ask for Eric or Steve they can get you a clutch that will meet your needs.

Just wanted to jump in here and say that if you are looking into replacing the clutch in your car with something along those lines take a look at our stuff... we back it with a 12 month warranty and will be more than happy to take care of you!
