Default LS7 Clutch

Finally got around to buying the LS7 clutch package from scoggin dickey parts... I'd advise everyone who wants one to buy from there too... pretty cheap package 399.99.. Anyways
I have gotten the
Clutch Package
LS7 Clutch
Pressure Plate
Flywheel
New GM flywheel Bolts
Master Cylinder GM from WS6store
And the Slave Cylinder from WS6Store,
(They said the slave was the upgraded to 00-01 standards)
Anyhow, Have i missed anything? I'm getting it professionally installed so i dont want to leave anything out and get boned on a bullshit missing link.
Also, clutch fluid... Can i pick it up at an O'Reily's or something.. and what kind is recommended...
Thanks for the help fellas

List looks good. I would do the drill mod if you haven't already while you have everything out. You can pick up brake/clutch fluid at any auto parts store.

Pilot bearing?

Dot 4 synthetic, drill mod is a must and wrap the line as indicated above.

I would replace the pilot bearing- its cheap insurance, and if you have higher miles it is a good idea.

Definatly wrap the line. I have had very good results in using DOT3 fluid and a wrapped line.

Def Do The Drill Mod And Wrap The Line, Pilot Bearing Isn't Really A Must But Its Not A Bad Idea To Get It While Your In There

I suggest the pilot bearing. It's just $13 so why not do it while the transmission is out the first time. Most that I have done were in fairly bad shape

I guess it's really like playin russian roulette with hydrolics. I laugh everytime I see someone sayin "do the drill mod" or "wrap your hydrolic line & pray". My reason for laughing is that my car is a 99' w/stock master running a LS7 clutch kit. The only part of the hydrolics I replaced was the slave & I have never had a issue. Didn't wrap the line as others preach about either.

And yea, my car is a daily driver that sees a mixture of 300+ city/Hwy miles a week, has over 112k on the clock & has LT's. Never once have I had a fluid issue from the line getting too hot or the master giving my trouble. That goes for making passes at the track either.

After I installed & broke in my LS7 clutch kit I went to the local track & hot lapped it a couple times. I didn't have any pedal stick or other hydrolic problems & it was probably around 90* outside that day too.

Has SDparts gotten the LS7 clutch kit in yet? I ordered one two weeks ago and haven't recieved it yet. They told me it was on back order and they don't know for sure when GM will be sending them some more. I can't wait for them to get some in so I can get my car back on the road. I miss driving it, lol.

I want to replace mine but it's not too big of an issue right now... As long as I don't get on it since the clutch pedal sticks to the floor after a few runs with high rpm's

I'll be getting this soon but not now

I am going to be doing the the clutch in my car this month. I was making a list myself. When everyone says replace the hydraulics with the 01-02 pieces, are they talking about the master and slave both or what?

Thanks.

Also, are the LS7 clutches on backorder still?

Well hopefully I'll get mines soon. I understand that the LS7 Kit is in high demand, and they're most likely shipping them off in the order of who bought one first. So I hope I'm next on the list, lol. I can't wait to get back on the road. I've gone far too long without driving my baby. Have you installed yours yet?

Well thats all well and good, but those two mods are cheap insurance against future issues.

Nothing like installing a brand new LS7 clutch and having it burn up in no time due to the hydraulics.
