Default Forced to granny shift! Suggestions??

After I have done the mods in my signature. When I am getting on it and near WOT I have to push in the clutch try to grab the gear and then wait about a 1/2 to 1 second before it will go into gear.

I have a 02' GM slave in it. Will the drill mod help this out? I was thinking that the drill mod would stop the pedal from sticking to the floor. I am not having that issue. I just have to hold the gear in position while the clutch is already in until it will slip into gear.

Thanks if advance for your help.

Sounds like you aren't double clutching like you should

The drill mod is worth a try, and also make sure your clutch hydraulic fluid is clean. Those seem to be the big culprits.

your clutch might be dragging also. did you wrap the hydro line that runs beside your header. if not it may cause it to burn the fluid.

I did not wrap the lines. But I will however tomorrow change the fluid and see if that helps me out. I was racing a stock 06' Mustang that only had a tune and it was a close race because I had to granny shift the whole time !

So i need to get this fixed.

Thanks for the replies so far guys.

Well, I looked at my fluid it is black as night! How do you suggest I change it? Is there an easy way?

Id just bleed it and fill it till its comes clean. Im new to the LSX style clutch setup sense Ive had LT1s till now. But that seems like that would be a decent way to do it. Im sure someone else will pop in and let you know the correct way to do it.

Yup, just suck out the dirty stuff out of the resevoir then, replace with new fluid, and then bleed until clean new fluid comes out. The drill mod will help out alot also but that doesn't sound like your problem now.

Well, I jumped the gun on the fluid help last night. I read through the stickies like I should have and came across the ranger method. So I am going to try the ranger method today and see what happens. I am thinking this should help out a lot.

Well, I sold that car a while back. But yes, it did help. I also did the drill mod right after.

The drill mod did wonders for it. So I recommend that mod to anyone who is having problems.
