THats how I have mine right now...

I got the green and brown wire to the reverse lights....
is that brown wire a power?

You think its possible to tap into that to make that solenoid run?

I didnt read the whole thread to find out if you fixed it, but I would venture a guess that the brake booster pushrod differs in length from an A4 to an M6.

Dude, take those butt connectors off, go to harbor freight tools and buy a $4 pack of shrink wrap (every size, from 1/4 to 3/4, comes in a stack of white boxes) and SOLDER those connections, and shrink-wrap them. When you're dealing with sensors and solenoids, they are usually sensitive to resistance. Do it right, and the console around your awesome new 6 speed shifter won't have to come off again.

As for your question, you'll want to get a test light and look for power, but honestly I would pull power from a higher current wire under the dashboard rather than splice into those 16/18ga wires that are already being used.
