Default C5 T56 in a Camaro?

Will this work? Somone told me that a corvette transmission would have different bolt holes? I dunno... knew to the stick stuff - will it need anything special to work?

1999 C5 going in a 2001 SS

i know for sure that the shifter is mounted differently, being as how the c5 transmission is not bolted directly to the engine

The C5 t56 wont work. It is mounted to the rear transaxle and the front of the transmission it mounted to a torque tube. The cases are different from each other.

The C5 trans is mounted to the rear differential and connected to the engine/bellhousing by a torque tube. So yes they are different. I am not sure if the bolt holes would still line up on the C5 trans and a F-body bellhousing.

Yep its different. I dont think you can make it work. I think they call the vettes a "floating" transmission if I'm not mistaken

This has been covered several times . Do a search on it and you will find all the info you need to describe why it will not work .

The internals could be put into an LS1 T56 with some extra $$, but yeah, the C5s don't sell for much because they only fit on a C5 transaxle drivetrain.
