Loose Shifter? I have an 02 SS and as of this morning my shifter is pretty loose while it is in Gear. It moves side to side and forward and backward more than normal. It for some reason just started this morning. I'm not the best with transmissions, so is there anything that could of came loose that i can just tighten or is my shifter wearing out. It is the Stock Hurst that comes in the car and the car has 52,xxx miles on it. Any Ideas?
That could be a worn transmission mount. It's under the car, attached to the transmission and very easy to replace, even if you are not a tranny guy. If you go to www.installuniversity.com they have a writeup with pictures, it takes 10-25 minutes.

Check out the tranny mount and shifter bolts. Also make sure the little plastic cup that goes around the bottom point of the shifter where it goes into the tranny is still intact.
+1 for checking the bolts that hold the stick on. i had mine back out on me and the stick actually fell off while i was on the highway!!! seriously scarry stuff. a little loctite when putting it back on, problem solved.
