Default question on quick disconnect (getting frustrated)

For some reason I can not get the quick disconnect to stay in the slave cylinder. every time I press the clutch in it pops out just enough to disconnect.
I undid the bleeder valve to let out pressure and then connected it. Still did not work. It will bleed when the bleeder is open, but when
I tighten it up. POP goes the braided line right out of the slave.
can some one on here please help me.

I had a problem getting mine to snap on and connect for a while, I ended up lubing everything up with brake fluid, completely securing the plastic ring back as far as it would go and with patience I wrestled it in there.

how much fluid do i need to put on there? It's not dry when I put it in especially since I think I have it in there and when I push the clutch it pops out and fluid squirts out on it.

Be sure to lube your O ring well when it goes in. I had this problem before. More than likely it is lubed from all the poping out.LOL It will feel as though you have it in, when in actuality it is not. I removed the plastic piece that allows for the quick disconect and just keep it where I can find it. (If lost, you can buy others at walmart) I find removing it helps get the damn thing in there right.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this leads me to a question... How are you guys disconnecting the braided line? Everytime I have to do it I use a flat screwdriver to push in the plastic piece but it takes forever and I just can't help but think there is a better way.

BTW, I had to wrestle like hell to get the line back in last time I messed with it. Are you hearing/feeling it 'pop' in?

When it's in all the way the gold 'lip' on the end from the master is almost flush with the end from the slave. I use 2 screwdrivers to push it in.

When you get it pushed in get a small screwdriver and pry out a little on the retainer while pushing in. As far as disconnecting i use a small set of pliers so i can press both sides at the same time evenly and out it comes.

my brother still can't get ours in either. it's been 2 and 1/2 weeks now. he's tried everything I've read of these similar posts and still...

how can you tell if the slave end is possibly worn out? I mean, you can't really "see" down in there.
