thank you,

I am leaning towards the high temp because of the heat in that area.
Here are some specs for the Permatex High Strength vs. High Temp

High Strength: breakaway tq 250 in/lbs prevail tq 275 in/lbs
High Temp : breakaway tq 200 in/lbs prevail tq 250 in/lbs

The High Temp data sheet also states it can used on flywheel bolts.

Since Permatex data sheets have cross references to GM part numbers, does anyone have the GM threadlock/sealant part number from their service manual?

I found 2 different GM part numbers for thread lock for flywheel bolts

2008 info indicated 12345382 which is equivalent to Permatex blue

another source indicates 12345493 which is equivalent to Permatex Red High Temp

I was told that GM thread sealant is the only thing I can use. Is that true? I have gobs of the loctite that I used to sell when I worked at Advance Auto.

What ever you do though... dont mix loctite with anti-seize. Some say it may tear a hole right in the universe!

Blue loctite will work fine too. Just make sure you use loctite!
