Will an LS6 clutch hold up on a full bolt on 00 WS6?
I just got really lucky and ran into a guy that gave me a free ls6 clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel, all brand new. I was going to go ls7, but he tells me the ls6 should hold up on my application. Its an 00 ws6 that will soon be full bolt ons and I may do a cam later on down the line, but not anytime soon. Would you go ahead and put the ls6 in, you can't beat if for the price? Let me hear what you guys think.

With full bolt ons you should be running about 450 at the rear wheels (if you are doing heads and cam). That whould be a lot of power for the LS6 clutch. Personaly I whouldnt risk it, but I always play it safe. I would sell the LS6 and get a LS7, that will hold the power as long as you dont spray it.
Oh, and it also depends how you plan to use the car.

I have full bolt on. And I started with a mild cam, and the ls6 clutch slipped when shifting hard. I now have the T-Rex cam, and doesn't hold very well. I also have spray that I haven't used yet due to the clutch. I would sell the LS6, and go LS7.

LS7 will hold spray at bolt on power, If you read my post above, im putting mine through an *** whippin with a 1.60ft with a 150 shot off the line with no slippage. He's probably talking about H/C/I. Because i dont think the LS7 would hold that with spray

But I dont spray and love my LS7 so I would recomend it. LS6 is basically the same thing with a little less holding power.

If you just want to drive it around and go through the gears on the street, it will be ok for a while. If you actually want to USE the car for the track and street race, the stocker will die alot quicker than you'd think. Mine was DONE at 34k and most of those miles were bone stock, and when it died I only had a lid and full exhaust. It would slip when I tried to come off the line very hard and on hard up-shifts.
If your looking into the future, get something better. I wouldn't look any further than the TEXtralia. I've been running an OZ700 for 2.5 yrs and 22k+ without ANY problems at all. Well worth a lil extra money for something that will perform AND last.
