Is your engagement point closer to the floor or the top of the pedal travel? Did you install the shim behind the slave cylinder?

Are you sure you haven't gotten a contaminant on the disc surface? If you did get grease, hydraulic fluid, oil or something on the surface it could cause intermittent burn off allowing you to experience slippage sometimes and grip others. The as the car sat it would be contaminated again and the clutch would slip. You mention that it engages mid-pedal so the geometry should be fine. What flywheel is being used? Let me know and I will be happy to assist you further.

As for LS184's answer...great insightfulness. We have thousands of these kits in cars with lots of your fellow forum members that swear by them. As always it seems easier to blame the clutch manufacturer than to actually examine the situation and find the real problem. But I am sure you already know what they say about assumption. Is it possible that he has a legitimate clutch issue? Sure. But it is also possible that there is another issue. It is best to assess the problem first rather than point fingers but to each his own I suppose.

spec-01 thanks for the reply but the list...
gm master new and adjustable...barly any adjustment done
new gm slave
drill mod...b.s.
spec 3...agreed one of the best...
and new centerforce flywheel
all of the stuff was installed at once...and one hour brfore i blead the clutch i raced a car but off thr line it gripped like a **** on a 35-4000 launch, the car bogged so the clutch gripped, and with dr's and after that and the bleed the problems started. my car barly goes into 1st now 2nd and 3rd are notchy too...i dont hat spec, rather the clutch componets and how it works

Did you perform the correct 500 mile break-in?

Notchy points at the hydrolics.

FYI-the last 3 SPEC 3+'s we installed did not require the shim.If we did install the shim the clutches would of burn't out quickly.

So, you installed the clutch, immediately began drag racing it...an hour later noticed that the shifter was notchy and that the clutch intermittently slipped. If this is how it happened, it is how you seem to describe it above, then you have already evidences that you didn't follow our instuctions. Either way it worked fine before you bled it and then you issues started. Just thinking logically...it is likely that you are having an issue with the hydraulics. If the parts worked initially and then had a problem after use and bleeding then you have likley got air in the lines. Use a Mighty-Vac to bleed the system further and go from there. Let me know what the result is and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks!

As a side note my "great insightfulness" refference was sarcasm...I assumed you all would understand that! Either way, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any confusion on this matter....

At this point all I can do is ask you to send me some pictures of the assembly. Perhaps it is contaminated; perhaps it is something else...but until I can see the parts all I can do is hypothesize as to the cause. I am sure you understand what I mean.

I once also thought I had a bad spec 2 clutch after install and took it to AAMCO transmissions which also said it was the clutch.I then called spec and they laughed that they said that, and that AAMCO did not know what they were talking about.Took it to the dealer and it turns out the tranny was bad.after the tranny got rebuilt with new slave it drove perfectly fine but I could not power shhift even with the drill mod.Swapped the master for a mcleod adjustable and know I cant miss a gear its so smooth.5 years later and this clutch still feels better than when I bought the car brand new.
