Default 110 octane NW suburbs??

I need to grab a bit more 110 octane for my new race sled so i can ride it tomorrow..haven't had the chance to do the motor work to get it on pump gas just yet. I have 5 gallons of 114 already left over from Camaro but I'd like to get more as this sled is not what you would call fuel efficient lol. I know there's a citgo in Fox lake that has 110 at the pump but that's a good bit out of my way to where i'm heading tomorrow to meet my buddies(Ringwood..north of McHenry)

I'm in Rolling Meadows...anybody know of 110 around this area I can grab tonite??

can't be 100 octane, sled requires 110 in race trim.

Not sure. I know there is a place in Barrington that has "race gas" but not sure what octane it is or where its at exactly. Call up route 12 they might still be open.

everything around this area appears to be 100 octane unleaded. I can get it at the Meijer 2 minutes from my house(where the big friday nite show is at).

looks like i'm going to the citgo on 12 in fox lake on a bit of a detour to fill up another 5 gallon can in the morning before i take the sled out.

by the way Mike..I sold the 03 i bought from you and picked up an 06 sno pro factory 600 mod. got plenty of work to do to get it trail converted but the little tiny bit i ripped it so far this thing is just SICK lol

Sean, isn't avation fuel 110 octane?

Just wondering if you could buy some at Palwaukee? Not sure if they still let people do that after 2001, but I used to know a Turbo Buick guy that bought gas there.

Dont use avi gas use RACE gas, they are not the same and it will ruin the sled. This has been a topic on many sled sites and its not good for 2 strokes.

It may be too late, but there is a small gas station in Barrington on the east side of 59 just north of Lake Cook (just behind Motorwerks Cadillac) that has 110. Or at least they did a few years ago when I worked at MW. Sorry I don't know what company the gas station is.

citgo in Fox lake that has 110 at the pump they dont sell it any more. your really only going to find 100. and nice sled but thats alot of track for around here and even up north for the trails. but nothing sounds better then a 2 cycle with tight heads. Nice sled

They still have 110 leaded at the Citgo on 12 in fox lake, I went there Sunday and got it before heading to Ringwood. $6.50 per gallon.

fields were crap of course but the grades were ridable and the ditches were awesome. this thing just plain RIPS..i couldn't get it stuck if i tried, floated right though waist deep powder in some places.

i'm not worried about the track, i like it. if i went through a track a season i dont' care, like putting a set of slicks on my car every year. i might have cut it down to 1.5" from the 1.7" its at right now if it wasn't studded already, i don't want to buy new studs if i cut it down. i tossed 4 idler wheels and blocks in it quick sunday before we went out and the hyfax appeared to be fine with that. i'd like to to do 2 more but the resevoirs for the rear shocks are right in the way of that, gonna have to try some mini wheels or something.

sled it just way to loud. i got stopped twice for how loud it was, thankfully no tickets. working on modifying a ZRT can this week to quiet it down. I'm installing the pump gas domes in the head on thursday and I have a rear heat exchanger from an 02 440 on order, going to get that in there using some firecat rail coolers, etc. should be enough for the 600 hopefully.

Keep the 1.7 track. Just extend the sno flap for your poor poor buddies behind you!LOL!
Ive had every track that will fit that sled and the 04 sno pro 1.7 track rules. yours is an attack 20 so you would need to convert back to regular gears and ditch the BW slipper gears and jackshaft for it to work.(I would get rid of the slipper gears anyways).

sled is fresh off the racetrack so it has the flap extension, flap drags on the ground at all times. doesn't seem to do much though, Kurt bought an 06 sno pro stocker he's dropping his 700 in and he was in front of me and i was getting pelted. guy behind me said i was hitting him with ice and rocks all day too lol.

why don't you like the slipper gears??

Not cheap or many options to change gearing and limits you to a attack 20 track that is notorious for tearing for no reason. 1.7 04 sno pro track is a much better trail track.
Imagine if you didnt have a extension. Your friends wouldnt want to ride with you!lol!
