Default Can anyone help with nitrous?

I'm wanting to put nitrous on my car. Just a 100 shot, maybe alittle bigger, but I have never installed anything like that before, and I really don't feel like giving it a try on my own. I'm not going to waste my money on the kit until I can get help so if anyone wants to help me out let me know. I'll pay you what I can, and free food and beer XD

Don't plan on it being done with in the near near future, but sometime before summer is up would be great.

Id stay away from the ZEX kit or at least do a lot of searching first. A lot of people have had problems with them but maybe the company has fixed them.

If you want to save some money I have an allready wired heater and two 15 pound bottles I am selling. One still hase some gas in it.

There are some pretty good wiring digrams and pictures out there. Its pretty straight forward.

$350 for everything, one bottle does not have the nipple that the line threads onto or the know you turn. Really easy to just take them from the other bottle but they are cheap.

15 pounders tend to go for $150+ each so $350 is a good deal. One of them also has a hi-flo valve.

Whats your point?

Do you know how many runs a 10 or 15 pounder will get you with no heater or NANO?

I think his point is that he'd rather get a complete kit than a couple bottles and a heater. I mean.. it's a fact that just having a bottle and a heater, the nitrous won't magically find itself into his engine.

Agreed, I just figured he would want to save some money on a bottle and a heater not to mention the shipping.

If he wants just the one bottle and the heater then $250. Im sure everyone knows that a new bottle and heater shipped will cost quite a bit more but if he wants to just buy the kit complete and the heater then cool

I can get a NOS kit with 1 15lb bottle (no heater) with everything needed to run it, set up for a 125 shot for 500 dollars with free shipping. I appreciate the offer though

Its cool, you will find out pretty quick that you will need at the very least a heater. Unless you want to risk killing yourself with a torch hahaha.

You will need a bottle heater and a Window switch if you are a 6 speed. Nitrous is not as cheap as most think it is. If you want it done right you will spend around a minimum of 1K or more depending on the set up you want to go with.

On top of a saftey switch and fuel pump to stay safe unless he has a pump. Filling bottles gets pricey also.

Then you have to find out if the noids have the teflon seals in them since the NOS noids with out them are known to stick.

Then its also safe to have an intake with burt pannels.......

We all remember what happend when the purple monster sprayed hahaha.

P.S. dont forget plug wires and plugs.

I like the ZEX kit also. I am actually contemplating on putting a ZEX Kit on my 98Z before the end of the summer. Just to see what the **** will do!

Juiced, I think he was just trying to say that with the 2 bottles and the heater he would still be in the market for the sol.'s and the nozzles, and the controller and etc. He'd be far better to just buy a kit and add on parts as he goes. Such as a fuel pressure safety switch and the heater and other misc. things.
In the long run he'd be down a bottle but he would probably save a little bit of money by buying the kit and the add-ons seperate!

I know, I figured he might be interested in one of the bottles and the heater and save some cash but no biggy..... If he can get the kit with a bottle cheap then cool, bottles get banges up oretty quick though haha.

I knew you would start thinking about the bottle hahaha.

I still say people need to do their homework on the ZEX kit before they buy. A lot of people were having problems for a while.

Oh, also need a blow down tube unless thats required also and a gauge is nice but some kits include that.

Haha Yeah Yeah shut up! I am thinking about it!

I still say people need to do their homework on the ZEX kit before they buy. A lot of people were having problems for a while. I'll check into it! I have heard nothing but good. I know a guy who has it and it has performed FLWLESSLY in his car and he has used it Multiple times.

YES! Those are VERY good things to have. The Blow-down tube is mandatory I think!

Maybe they just had issues when they first came out.

Some tech guys will let you get away with not having a blow down but most will only let you get away with it once from what I have heard.

Its more of a saftey thing for you and others. I have seen what O2 tanks (20 pounders) witll do when they blow at 1,000 psi..... at the very least the back of your car will be shot, if you mount the bottle up front..........
