With cam choices, your description is a different opinion to everyone.

If you car is a DD m6, I would not recommend going over a 224/224 cam. In regards to LSA, becarefull going to low such as 112 or 110 and your car will have a rough idle and catch some unwanted attention because of the noise.

A 114 or 116 lsa can still sound nasty but is more practical for DD. While mantaining more of a stealth feel/sound. I know many cars that have a 114-116 lsa, they sound stealthy but will kill any in a race.

I have a speed in, 231/237 112lsa cam in my m6 with LTs and LM2. I would not drive my car as a daily commuter. I love my car and driving, however the fumes are strong, the idle is rough and the car is loud and not smooth. If feels and sounds more like a race car. i love how the car is, but its not practicle for everyday. Now with a 224/224 and 114 yeah sure it would definitely be more practicle. Some drivers/owners might want to drive a rough idleing car, with strong fumes every day, but driving to the office and getting groceries its not worth it.

Now if your car is not DD, then go big with the cam, but buy parts that compliment eachother, cam, gear ratio etc......

It all comes down to the use of your car and your goals with power

talk to larry at speed inc, he can definitely help you out.

And what about a car with 224/224 and 110?

To be completely honest with you, I think it runs like a raped ape! But only track times (well mph really) will prove that since I'm VERY traction limited right now!
I went from a 12.99 car to what I have now, And to me it fells 2 x's as fast! Chad at greenlight said it should run the numbers if I get it to hook! He knows what I'm hoping for so we'll see what it does soon enough. I'm hoping low 11's to high 10's. So we'll see!

James

PS) when I finally hit the track, I'll post videos and track times on here!

If I could do it over, I'd do a BIG dry kit and keep the stock cam.

Fuel pump, injectors, 225 shot...And ARP head bolts when it lifts the head.

My favorite all around cam is the 228/232 .588/.595 @ 112 cam. It really doesn't drive any different than the 224/224 cam's other than a choppier idle, any the pull very well from 2800rpm on.

As far as larger cams. . . My LS6 Z28's cam is 244/248 .620/.622 @ 112+2, and as some of the poeple on this board I've given rides too, it still has decent street mannors, and pulls to kingdom come. Peak torque at 6100rpm, peak HP at 7200rpm.

Thanks; and it shouldn't be too long before I get to te track! I'm going to be easy on the rear so I KNOW the 60' time is going to be sad. lol But I'm hoping for good mph.

I tend to not pay attention to people who refer to nitrous as "nos"...As it usually means you're not too well versed on the subject to begin with.

But I figured I'd just point out the inaccuracy in your statement just so other impressionable people don't get the wrong idea.

Nitrous doesn't "take out" rings. IMPROPERLY tuned nitrous can destroy rings, ring lands, bearings, etc.

Nitrous, like any other increase in power, will shorten the lifespan and durability of a motor to an extent. Nothing drastic...Unless done wrong.

My buddy put a 300 shot through a STOCK 454 bbc bottom end for an entire season of street and grudge racing. All cast components with God knows how many miles on the engine before he got it(RV motor). It loved it. Then we upped it to a 400 shot for a few races and the rings FINALLY started to tire out...But honestly that was more so due to the engine never being rebuilt since 197x.

So to make nitrous out to be some game of Russian roulette is misleading.
