People that I bring to town tell me they love and miss Portillo's after leaving. There's one a couple of miles from Speed Inc:

950 South Barrington Road, Streamwood, IL‎.

I'll be staying at the Hampton hotel. Mapquest says it's about 6-7 miles from Speed. I'll have to check out the mall!

I would say go to Chicago instead, strip malls and new development areas like Schaumburg are like cookie cutter towns (I don't intend to offend anyone who lives there, I just think it lacks originality and soul). I think you'd be better off driving 20 min east and find something interesting downtown. You could hop on a train and explore on foot if your worried about parking or traffic.

Only place to eat is Village Tavern or Pub right down the street from Speed Inc. Killer food. If your going to Speed, bring extra money. Place is like a big kids candy store. I bought stuff I really don't need lol.

whatever you do...do NOT go to streets of woodfield...the amount of rice just might make you murder someone.

i say definetely go downtown...walk down state street maybe grab some stuffed pizza...if you and your wife like to party hit up ohio/division areas for some bar hoppin at night or wrigleyville for some interesting spots...theres always someone performing over at cubby bear.

food around woodfield?
texas de brazil is my personal favorite.

I also will say Portillos, but I will also add Lucky Dog in either Melrose Park or Cicero.. they have amazing food and are really good people.. I was born/raised in Melrose, and it was either Lucky Dog or **** Robin n since **** Robin is no longer you get the point! Either way you definitely need to check out Downtown Chicago, will have the most things to do n be some pretty sweet things to see!
