if you need help this summer, I might be able to come by, i have the mezerna sip, the finishing polish, and some crazy *** hand poured carnaba wax....the new deal in detailing is da polishing with meguirs professional products. i will be detailing my camaro with it in May.

Menzerna polish rejuvenates with water, which is why it is expensive. We have used menzerna for a couple of years and it usually does a great job. The only problem with most polishes is the amount of filler material in it. In order to do a proper detail, the polish coat needs to be wiped down with alcohol to remove any filler material. If you apply a fine sealer or carnauba over polish that is not dry, it will leave streaks that can only be removed by repolishing the surface. The 3M polish, called ultrafina usually is great since it removes the filler, and leaves a jeweled surface, but it is only great for a car which is perfect.

If you want some suggestions on where to buy polish or how to do it, just pm me, once you learn how to do it, it is not that hard.

Here's my 2cents if it matters, there are alot of rookie detailers out here myself included, we can do your basic wash, claybar wax, polish etc.... but not sure how to take it to the next step for fear of ruining our cars.
Maybe someone could hold a get together and have one of the above mentioned members(who is known for great detailing work) could show us what to use and how to use it properly.

what are you unsure of ?
are you using a machine to polish, if so rotary or Dual action?
products ?

it would be difficult to damage paint with a dual action polisher, i.e. porter cable 7424, unless you are a complete ignoramus !

you can practice on a " practice panel " from a bone yard or someones old oxidized beater, if you want to try your hand at a rotary....

I'm using my right arm for right now, my camaro will be done soon so I'll be looking to get set up with all the right stuff. I just thought it would be cool if someone who has great talent in detailing could maybe share some of their skills and educate others. ie. I bet if you saw a panel and it had a scratch on it, you would know exactly what product to use, pad etc......
Just thought it would be fun to get some guys and cars together.

Using a PC isnt very hard, just have to take your time. Some people dont have the patiences to buff their car. I have used both rotary and PC, I practiced on scrap pieces but I also practiced on my trans am when I began detailing.
