Default Back in the OKC

Well after 8 years I'm back in the OKC. Wondering what the car scene has turned into since I left. When I left 39th street was starting to die down, and a lot of the local meets were breaking up.

That's odd. I've seen a few decent rides around here so far. A few GTO's and Z06's.

I remember back in the day there was a race or someone willing on every corner pretty much. I'm not looking to get back into all that just to find some laid back enthusiasts to hang with.

39th is basically dead. i lived there 2 years ago, and we would run our bikes down it friday/saturday and it was all junk, no cars just out for a drive.

when i lived there i still had my zx6r and we did bike night at hooters 2 days a week and then some stuff on saturdays. back then all my money was in the bike so i drove a junk grand prix lol. so i may not have known the best car locations

I know that 39th is dead like others have already said. Some of the guys I cruise with like to drive out to Pops Soda Stand on good 'ol Route 66. There's usually a bunch of imports that like to hang out in the shopping center parking lot on Hefner Pkwy & Memorial Rd on Saturday nights. I like to be the "slow Pontiac" that just happens to roll up on them when they're leaving and looking for a final "kill of the evening." Disappointing those guys is always fun for me!

if you're still looking for car scene, eithe gotta go with the Midwest streetcar guys or the onepercent.net guys. Both groups aren't all that welcoming to new people, but if you want to roll with some of the fastest street cars in the country, that's who you gotta go with. A lot of people still cruise 39th, but only asshats race at 39th. People meet up there and then find places to go run.

Dead, no. But not what it used to be.
