Default Drag strips

Any one else see there drag strip real empty? I herd from a friend that Union Grove in Wisconsin is pretty slow like 20 to 30 cars some days they could hot lap cars. Why is that ...is it the track or the lack of money people have. Back 7 years ago I was luck to make 4 passes on a week night and 2 passes on a saturday!! it was that busy. Is this the trend at all the tracks?

.

Went to 41 a week ago Sat, and I think there was about 7 cars.
It was awesome for me because it takes an hour to make a pass.
The bad part was they closed 2 hours early, and I hate pissing away money on diesel.
I wanted to make 2 more pass'.

I sure as hell hope it doesn't stay like that, because if it does, they will start plowing them over for corn!!!
We need to keep tracks open and making a profit!!

We don't even have a track anymore! Local one shut down about 4 years ago. An operational air strip was transformed into a decent 1/8th mile track mid last year and it stayed open for roughly a season...its gone under now. Closest tracks to us now are a minimum of a 2 hour drive

1/8th mile seems to be the new thing. Cheaper to insure, operate, maintain, etc. People around here are just setting up their cars for 1/8th mile now.

I've always wanted to change the gear and do that myself.
I would love to see what it could do.
Just imagine if we had more space what it would do, if we can go this fast in 7 seconds.
There is just no way in hell I'm going all the way to the salt flats, and getting my car all nasty.

Default Is Union Grove really closing

I have recently come across some information that union grove drag strip was bought by some one and the town is trying to not let reopen due to the noise issue or something. Does anyone know if this is true?

Not true. The grove will continue to run. Musts been all the complaints from the sore ears of corn. Ill be at the grove come spring opener and hopefully once a month after that. New baby cuts into my racing

I use to look forward for their test and tune weekends, but now they lack any kind of effort for better track preparation. I went there a few times this month and last, and talk about track prep, they even let the street radial tire freaks drive through the water box. What a waste of $30. I came to race not to slide and skate all over the place.
