Thanks for welcome folks, hopefully I can get it going fairly quick. The LS1 came out of an 02 T/A, so it should be pretty decent from the start, considering it is going in this lighweight car. I won't be running A/C or powersteering. The car came with the big brakes, 4.10 rear, and an aluminum hood. Eventual goal is to get the car deep into the 10's in the 1/4 mile, and still daily driveable. Mr. Bungle, I do believe I will have to take you up on the cam swap, be the first one I have ever done.

On another note, if you see a newer white Toyota Tacoma with steel bumpers and mud tires running around, feel free to say hi.

Thanks man! It's been a while since I've done one but as long as I don't have to rush it won't be hard at all. That's why I love LS Based engines. They are so easy to work on.

I agree. Being meticulous as could be I did mine in 8 hrs. That was with turning a guys rotors, playing on the computer and lunch in there too. I'd say I could get one done in 6 no prob.

I did mine with 16 magnets and it worked great. Wish I would've known a local had the actual lifter holders.

Well, I finally got the engine/trans delivered. I was curious about casting numbers, so I wrote down the numbers, and turns out I managed to nab an LS6 block. Now just gotta figure out what cam/heads/etc. I want to run on it. Needs to be daily driveable, but my version of a daily probably isn't for everyone.

Also, I think I'm going to be putting my drag tires up for sale (front and rear together). 215/60 R16 & 275/40 R17 for $700.

And have a SLP linelock and MSD 2-step that I could sell as well.

I just don't see me racing next year.

It's expensive to race. I want a bike or start building my drag car. And I'm not sure about my summer plans just yet.

I'm planning on it taking 5-6 years. I don't think I'll be touching anything for the drag car this year either.

I'm still not ready to drop a 9 inch in it yet either.

All and all, it also depends on what my summer is going to look like.

Ok need some opinions. If I can get my electrical issues fixed on my Trans Am I'm gonna keep it. That being said its getting a little tired with 140k miles on it. Anyway money is tight so I will need to save for whatever I get. I have 2 options 1st rebuild my stock engine and install a middle of the road cam. 2nd throw my short block ls2 in. Only problem with the ls2 is I need to buy a bunch of parts to make it work with the F-body plus idk if I can afford 243 heads. What you think about 241's? Choke it to much? Idk I am just trying to plan ahead. Already have a 9" and built RPM tranny. Discuss lol
